Hi, I’m Melanie. I am a family & newborn photographer in Kansas City (Overland Park to be exact!). I’ve been in business since 2018, but photography has been a huge part of my life since 2004. What started as a creative outlet has grown into a full-service portrait studio centered around making it easy and beautiful to document your family at any stage. Oftentimes that starts with maternity or newborn portraits, but I also love working with families who have older children.

As a mom myself, I know how hard it can be to get yourself ready, coordinate outfits, and get everyone out the door. That’s exactly why I’ve built my studio the way I have. I provide wardrobe and styling for your whole family, along with professional hair and makeup for moms - so you can show up and not have to carry those chores on your own. My studio is my business home-base, but I also love photographing sessions outdoors and in the greenhouse.

At the end of the day, I truly believe that photos are a gift to your future self. These seasons go quickly, and having something tangible to look back on matters more than you realize in the moment. I’m so grateful to the families who trust me to be part of that. Thanks for being here!

Greenhouse sessions are always some of my favorites. The light is soft, the space is full of life, and it creates the most beautiful setting for family portraits. It’s like stepping into spring, no matter what time of year it is!

Let’s be honest, being in front of a camera can feel a little vulnerable. Most of my clients tell me they’re awkward in front of a camera before they walk in. That’s completely normal.

This is why it matters who you choose as your photographer. I guide you through every pose, adjust the small details, and make sure you feel comfortable the entire time. You never have to wonder what to do with your hands or how to stand. And yes, I will absolutely hype you up along the way!

The goal isn’t *just* beautiful photos. It’s for you to leave feeling confident, taken care of, and proud of this season you’re in.

Why do I include wardrobe with all of my sessions? Because choosing outfits is almost *always* the most stressful part for families, especially for moms who usually end up carrying that task. Buying new clothes just for photos can feel like a lot of work - not to mention expensive and wasteful. I know which colors, patterns, styles, and fits photograph best with my locations, lighting, and editing style, so taking that off your plate makes everything easier. And honestly, who doesn’t want the chance to play dress-up?!

My sessions include wardrobe for the ENTIRE family. I offer a size-inclusive wardrobe for women, men, and children of all ages. Everything has been thoughtfully curated to work well and mix/match for your whole fam. As a mom, I get it. And I’m here to help make it easy, fun and beautiful to document your family’s memories.
