Let's talk about how to wear your hair for your senior session.
My favorite way to recommend wearing your hair is down. and it's completely up to you if you want to curl it or leave it straight. Choose the one that makes you feel most comfortable, confident and like yourself.

Having your hair down will ensure that you look like you have hair from all angles haha. When you wear your hair up, it sometimes can give the wrong impression and we don't want that. It will also elevate your images and make them look more dressy. Having your hair up can imply that you’re going for a super casual look.

Don’t get me wrong! I’m not against having your hair in an updo or even a half up, half down style. And actually I think it’s great when seniors choose to add a claw clip for a few images to add more variety. But I think overall having your hair down is the best way to go.

IKYMI....my 2027 Senior Model Team had their first team senior session and it was picture perfect! Mother nature decided to ruin our original plan because she's sassy like that 🙃

But honestly...these dresses and colors were made for this flower field!! It's like the original plan wasn't supposed to happen😅 It all worked out and I'm so incredibly excited to share more from this session. And beyond excited to go on more photo adventures with these girls!

I love the magic of family photo sessions. I always try to focus on two things during family sessions.

First I want to capture some posed images. Think of picture perfect Christmas card vibes. These images show everyone smiling and standing together perfectly.

But I will also spend time creating candid moments that show emotions. I will give you and your family things to do, talk about, and games to play together to create some natural moments during your session. I want you to be able to look at your photos and feel the excitement in your kids eyes. I want you to be able to look at your photos and see how much fun you all had together.

These aren't just your typical family photos. They're images that your family will cherish for years to come💖

One question I get asked about a lot is the amount of time it takes me to edit a senior session. Especially for those that book a session in September and October.
My typical turnaround time is about a week for editing! I know that's really fast but I get super excited and want to see your photos too haha.

And I take on only a limited amount of sessions in September and October to ensure that I return galleries efficiently and quickly because I know that you have your book deadlines coming up. my top priority is to make sure you have everything you need when you need it.

Every Senior Should Bring These 3 Things to Their Senior Session

It’s so important to come prepared and organized for your senior session. This way you won’t feel stressed or worried because you know that you’re ready! So to make sure you’re extra ready here are 3 important things to bring your senior session:

🦟Bug Spray- Yes, you’re going to want it! The last thing we want is for you to get giant mosquito bites and for your skin to turn red. We also don’t want you to be bothered while you’re enjoying yourself. Wear bug spray to keep pests away so we can focus on having fun!
👗Extra Outfit- You’ll definitely want to bring along an extra outfit to your session. I’ve seen some things happen over the years and we want to make sure you have options just in case! Bring along an extra top, bottoms, dress and pair of shoes.
💄Makeup Bag- You’ll want to pack a makeup bag full of hair products, makeup for touchups, your hair brush, extra accessories and all the things in between. It’s important that we prepare for anything to make sure your session flows smoothly.
