Happy first birthday Xerxes, you bring so much joy to so many! This little man will always have a special place in my heart..the first elephant of third generation of elephants in OKC. I watched his Mama, Achara grow up here and also watched his Dad Bowie as a little 'un down in Fort Worth

Sad news from the zoo, our beloved Piggles aka Sir David Pigglesworth III was euthanized last Tuesday because of declining quality of life due to advanced age. Piggles recently celebrated his 19th birthday with his daughter Kasai and his care team. I've known Piggles since 2009, he was a fantastic ambassador for Red River Hogs and was a doting Dad to 6 sets of piglets. Much love to all his care team past and present in the Hoofstock team, I'll miss him immensely.

Happy World Parrot day, some of my favorites parrot photos from home, Tulsa, Sedgwick Co Zoo and Animal Kingdom. Dis you know lorikeets have a specialized brush tongue to gather pollen and nectar from flowers? Parrots don't make good pets, they have a long lifespan and are high maintenance, noisy and destructive birds.
