Hi, everyone! I feel like I need to address a recent review that has been left on my Page regarding a Mini Session that was supposed to take place yesterday evening. I would like to provide further context and clarity as negative reviews can be detrimental to small businesses, especially when the bad review is due to no fault of the Business Owner.
Yesterday evening, I was wrapping up my last day of Client Appreciation Minis. These were Minis I hosted at a discounted price to give back to all of my amazing Followers who have given me the opportunity to become full time with my Photography. I know getting professional photos done can be put on the back burner a lot of the time because let’s be real. Life is expensive! Being able to do these discounted Sessions are some of the only ways some of my clients are able to get updated photos of their families, which is why I decided to host them. I reached out to Alisha around 1pm asking if she would be able to come at 7:20 instead of her original scheduled time slot, which was 7:30pm. I had a cancellation and was moving this Session up by 10 minutes so all Sessions would flow consecutively and also considering I’m 9 Months pregnant and the heat index was over 103° yesterday, I was wanting to get out of the heat and in the AC to cool off as soon as possible. Alisha agreed to this switch. I finished with the previous family at 7:18pm, and waited for Alisha until 7:40pm in case she was running late. Upon reaching out via email to see if she was on the way, she informed me she showed up to the location and someone took her photos, which was NOT me. All of my Photography peeps know how popular Lake Hefner is for photoshoots, especially near Hobie Point. There were multiple photographers doing Photo Sessions along the gravel road, all within walking distance of each other. I was the only photographer out there with a setup (the setup was included in the original Facebook post, the booking link, and the reminder email that was sent out 1 Week prior). In my reminder emails, I include an address, a GPS coordinate, and also where to find me at to prevent any confusion or wrong turns. Considering the setup was shared multiple times and my profile picture is also a photo of me and I’m also pregnant, so I’m unsure where the mix up came from and why Alisha approached a different photographer thinking it was me. Even though Alisha claimed she “technically did make it” to her Session, it is still considered a no show to me and my Business. Per my Contract that is signed and agreed to when booking, after 2 No Shows clients are black listed and unable to book any future Sessions with me indefinitely. This is Alisha’s second no show, her first one being in April of 2025. Alisha includes in her review that no resolution was given, and I don’t believe there is one I can give. This was my last round of these Minis before I go on Maternity leave, and the payment is non refundable which was included in the booking link AND the Contract that was signed and agreed to. I was at the location as described, set up, and ready to go and waited longer than I should have for her to show up. I did watch Alisha’s public Facebook story to see what she looked like as she has never shot with me since she didn’t show to her previous session, and I wanted to see if maybe she did arrive and I missed her. I’m not making this post to come off unprofessional or talk bad about anyone in any way, shape, or form. But I do feel it’s important to provide the full story as I feel I have done no wrong on my part. I hope this does not steer any of you away and I hope you all continue to trust me to capture those special moments of your lives. I can’t wait to see you all for the holidays once I come back from Maternity Leave! 💕
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
