I started this page about 6 years ago as a way to separate my cultural dance photography from my pinup works and to lighten all of it from my personal page. I immediately started to wonder if I had made a huge mistake as FB was constantly trying to fish me for more personal info and push for me doing the same to my friends who were good enough to follow me into it all. The communication got harder bouncing between varying page identities and FB constantly making me enter pins to get back my messenger services and then would get stuck in transition limbo. Always trying to sell me services I dint ask for and I assume are already outdated.
I did love that my brand was developing and growing. It was fun to use it in my pinup work in creative ways. But in doing so I began losing the best part of doing it all. - The interaction. I always thrived on it. Whatever that says about me I don't care. It was fun. That has been on a continuous decline, it has all but flatlined. I try to ignore it but it grows cold on me. Group dynamics are always going to flow and I can feel them largely moving on. Maybe algorithms, suppression, maybe I have worn it all out. I never made it easy for anyone, especially not recently. Either way it feels like im trying to create buzz about whatever latest work in a largely empty room. I do very much appreciate those who still dropped in. They are mostly all on my main real page and I hope that continues. The other 5000 voiceless signed in to the page for some reason are probably about 90% bots and I just don't get it with that stuff when interaction is the goal. I think FB has poisoned the well.
I was never in this to make a buck. Charging was always just an end to a means. This is my most overwhelming all consuming vice. Lately, it just isn't doing it. I am not in a place to feed it these days and that is of my own doing and I wouldn't go back on it. I still love the work and will seek reasons to do it here and there. I want to thank each of you who indulge me in this through the years. I have the nerve to hope in time for a little more.
But just so you all know I'm letting my Retro Pinups page go.
See you out there.
