Things I’d say as your wedding photographer if I wasn’t afraid to hurt your feelings…

• Your wedding photos will reflect how you plan your wedding.
If you want Pinterest worthy, Vogue style imagery, a backyard or dimly lit home church won’t produce the same results. While I will still get beautiful photos… I’m an artist, not a magician.

• Your photographer is not your day of coordinator.
I’m happy to help with a timeline and shot list guidance, but it’s not my role to keep the day running on schedule. Weddings almost always run behind and that’s okay.

• I’m your photographer, not your on call 24/7 assistant.
I’m a real human with a life outside of sessions. I have a family I prioritize, and if it’s a weekend or vacation, I won’t always respond immediately.

• Book a photographer whose editing style matches what you want. If you love light & airy photos, amazing but don’t book a dark & moody photographer and expect them to completely change their style.

• If you want “unposed” and “candid” photos… be candid.
I document what naturally unfolds. I can guide you, but I can’t force authentic moments to happen.

• Photography is art so trust it.
Skip the shot list. If you love my work, give me the creative freedom to capture your day naturally. That’s when the best images are created.

• Lighting matters. A lot.
If you don’t want harsh sunlight, plan your portraits accordingly. I can edit photos taken at noon, but they will never look like golden hour images and that’s just physics.
