Decades together and thousands of ordinary days.
Somewhere along the way, love stops trying to impress anyone.
It just becomes home.

The kind of love I hope we all get to experience in this lifetime.

One of the biggest things I hope my girls grow up knowing is that they’re allowed to change their minds. I hope they never feel like they have to keep believing something just because they always have.

I hope they ask questions.
I hope they stay curious.
I hope they change course when something no longer feels aligned.
I hope they’re never too proud to say, “I think I was wrong.”

I’ve changed my mind about a lot of things over the years. Not because I was weak or easily influenced, but because I kept learning. I kept living. I kept experiencing.

I hope they know changing course is not something to be embarrassed by.

I hope they know they’re allowed to keep becoming who they are, unapologetically.

One of my favorite things about photographing families is watching parents realize they don’t actually have to manage the session.

You don’t have to apologize because your kid wandered off. Half the time I’m quietly hoping they do.

For the people who understand this kind of grief, I wish we didn't have to.🤍

Some of the most important lessons I’ve learned as a parent had nothing to do with parenting.

They had everything to do with humility.

I promise this is still a birth and photography page. 😅

I just happened to relaunch an embroidery business somewhere between deployment, motherhood, gardening, and a complete inability to sit still.

Anyways, custom keepsakes are officially open 🤍🪡🌿

Lennon’s birth taught me something I already knew, but apparently needed to learn again.

Birth isn’t something we master.

It doesn’t care how many books you’ve read, how many births you’ve attended, or how prepared you feel.

Every birth asks something different of you.

With Avery, I learned to trust my body.

With Lennon, I learned to trust the process even when it wasn’t unfolding the way I imagined.

The waiting.

The uncertainty.

The unexpected decisions.

The moments where I wasn’t sure what came next.

It stretched me in ways I didn’t expect.

And somehow, that’s what I love most about birth.

Not because it’s easy.

Because it reminds us that surrender and strength can exist at the same time.

Ten months later, I still think about that night often. The warmth of the water. Avery meeting her baby sister. The quiet after everyone left. Looking around our home and realizing everything had changed again.

Birth has a way of leaving its fingerprints on us long after the contractions end.

I’d love to hear. What’s something birth taught you that you didn’t expect? 🤍

So thankful for for capturing our special day and of course for supporting us every step of the way 🤍
