I’ve always been an early riser, which is probably why shooting at sunrise just makes sense to me. It’s when I make my own family do our photos, too 😂 And honestly, one of the best parts? You’re done early and have the entire rest of the day to do whatever you want!

I’ve been wanting to shoot at for a LONG time, but I knew I would only do it at sunrise because of the crowds. (And yes… even at sunrise, there are still crowds to work around!)

So I asked one of my amazing model families if they’d be willing to wake up at 5am and come bask in that gorgeous early morning light with me.

I mean… I’d say this shot alone made the 5am wake-up entirely worth it. ✨

The more you focus on making sure your kid is smiling and standing a certain way, more time is wasted and less beautiful organic moments happen. Trust the process. I’ve got you!

You don’t need a perfectly styled home or every box unpacked—just a clean space, good light, and your love for your baby. This sweet family had just moved in and we stayed in one spot the entire session… and still created the most beautiful, meaningful moments.
