Yesterday, I spent the day at Station 14 on Holly Street in East Nashville. Built in 1914, Station 14 was the first fire hall constructed for a motorized apparatus in Nashville. Here are a few images from my day with the crew of the customized Engine 14, built specifically to honor that history while supporting the needs of the firefighters. Station 14 and its historic design also require a uniquely sized engine that can fit into the original bay. This is a series depicting a day in the life of the brave men and women of the Nashville Fire Department and shows what these firefighters do in their day, from cleaning, PT, shopping, and cooking together to going on runs when the call comes in. 👨‍🚒🔥🚨🚒

On Saturday July 4th before the fireworks for Let Freedom Sing were set off I spent time on the Cumberland River with crews of the Nashville Fire Department Special Operations and Marine Division performing wet down operations prior to the show to increase moisture content and suppress sparks. Crews for MNPD were also out on the water working hard to keep everyone safe 🔥⛴️🚨👮‍♂️👨‍🚒
