Honored to have this image included in the upcoming group exhibition curated by Amanda Hajjar for APA NY, the New York chapter of American Photographic Artists. The show will be up at the new Soho Photo Gallery in NYC from January 28-31, with an opening reception on Monday, January 29 from 6-8 pm.

I’m in New York this week for an assignment and decided to submit a few images to the show, hoping to connect with other photographers in the city and beyond. I’m so excited to have been included and really looking forward to being part of it. I got a look at the exhibition book and the work is incredible.

This photo was taken at sunrise from the Lower Brink of the Lower Falls in Yellowstone. One of the most beautiful sunrises and overall sights I’ve ever seen. A few days later we stood across the canyon at Artist Point, trying to spot where we had been.

Recently had the chance to photograph Ra Joy, former chief of staff and senior advisor at the National Endowment for the Arts, now stepping in as the executive director of the Bronzeville Center for the Arts. We shot a few portraits inside the gallery and then moved outside to Brad Anthony Bernard's mural created with my MIAD students. I’m excited for Milwaukee’s arts community. Twelve years ago, I volunteered to photograph the very first Girls Rock MKE at Turner Hall with my six-month-old and their dad right there with me. I was hoping someday they'd get to be a part of it, and they have. This summer marked their fourth session.
I've also turned it into a long-running project, and it's one of my favorite times of the year. As usual, I only had a few minutes to do band portraits before the showcase. This time, it was in the alley, and it was a challenge, but these musicians absolutely delivered.
Pay attention, Milwaukee music scene. You're looking at your future. 🔥

I was drawn to the concept right away: celebrating the strength, humor, and energy of everyday moms. The bold color direction made it even more fun to work on.

Thanks to for bringing me on. Looking forward to seeing .market open next week in Slinger.

Really appreciated working with a great crew to make it happen - with spot-on wardrobe styling _ Hair and Makeup with the great food from helping me stay steady as digital tech and Intern Javier Caceres assisting throughout the day.

At my kid’s school, Highland Community School, there’s always a party on the playground the last day. There’s a DJ, kids running around, face painting, and teachers and parents hanging out.⁠
⁠
We’ve been part of Highland for 10 years, since my kids were in the toddler Montessori program. I’ve made lifelong friends and learned a lot about Milwaukee, MPS, Montessori and what it’s like to be part of a school community. I ❤️ my Highland family.

There was this moment in the parade when the confetti went up, and I was walking behind them as they stepped into the street.
I spent a lot of time reading signs since my view was mostly the backs of people’s heads.
Everything just felt big and bright, and I was scrambling to get my camera out and focused in time. 🏳️‍🌈🎉
