Details like jewelry bring authentic charm with a contemporary sensibility—perfect for a couple who values a distinctive, memorable experience that feels like home.

With a refined yet relaxed atmosphere, and carefully curated touches like a porch tablescape designed to invite meaningful conversation and connection, Amanda of envisioned an intimate celebration blending heritage with modern elements; inspired by the charm of Charleston for earlier this year.

These are just a few of my favorite motherhood moments I’ve had the pleasure of photographing.

Babies grow, and a mother’s role doesn’t necessarily get any easier. Life takes its course, and some women are no longer with us. My children are now young adults, my own mother has left this earth, and while I want to say she was the best, I know we are all simply doing the best we can. Sometimes, that is the greatest gift we can give our children.

It really does go by fast. Take it in. Soak in the moments you are graced with in the presence of the ones you love.

And I’m also thinking of those for whom this day feels heavy: those who have lost their mothers, those who long to be mothers, and those who have experienced pregnancy or child loss. Losing a child at any stage is a heartbreak no one should have to carry.

So here I am, thinking of you all, and feeling grateful for the moments you have let me preserve in beautiful photographs.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Ecstatic about the images I was able to create while attending Charleston SC early this year. I have only shared a few. I get analysis paralysis some times. But this one deserves its own place on my grid.

Happy Friday!

It is no secret that Nashville has become a destination for weddings, and it is not surprising. Nashville and its suburban areas offer so much for couples wanting to get the knot.

There is one venue in Franklin, that is a great spot for couples wanting to elope, or have a micro-wedding in the middle of the week. And I am here for it! It is close to my home, so it is easier for me to accept bookings in short notice. I am enjoying getting to know the couples I am photographing there. The little chapel is picturesque, and gets beautiful light. The areas to get ready are nice looking as well, and for those who want to have a sit-down dinner, there is a long table and an area for your caterer to get the food ready to serve.

This New York couple wanted to have some pictures after their ceremony at an iconic Nashville spot, so we headed to the Natchez Trace Parkway, only a couple of minutes from Local Ark. The arches are indeed iconic, and we were so lucky to be able to take some photos by the bridge while they enjoyed the sunset. I came back to the following week with my sister who was in town visiting with some friends, only to discover that the bridge area at the Parkway is closed for repairs. So, you can say these photos here have become hard to replicate now.

Thank you Ana and Mark for trusting me with the photos of your wedding day. I will never forget how special your vows were. Another nice thing about having a micro-wedding, were the officiant and the photographer were able to step out and give you some time alone. I hope these images help you relive those beautiful moments.

One question I get asked a lot by brides is:

“What is the best way to prepare for photos that look natural? I feel like I always get too nervous when having my photo taken!”

My answer in short, is always: communication, trust and intention.

I replied to this bride in Spanish, because that is the language we both love the most. But you can see the translation in comments.

An ode to a happy one year old. So much joy photographing and going through the images of this family slice of life session.
We focused on some classic portraits, some indoor scenes and a stroll around the neighborhood on a sunny spring morning.

This is your sign to have me over one of these days, to document family time for you.

A beautiful room doesn’t guarantee a beautiful time. Most planners leave the vibe to chance, hoping the guests will find their own way to that magic, connected feeling.
Julie Comfort from “The Experiential Wedding” teaches how to design for that magic on purpose. Consistently.

I just came back from Spain, where I attended “Crafting Invisible Luxury” an immersive training in experiential event design that was a curated memorable experience in itself, because in order to understand the method behind the magic, you need to live it.

If you have ever wondered about the methodology behind designing memorable experiences for the events you host/plan, I highly recommend you check “The Experiential Wedding” to learn how to move past esthetics and create something deeper, the feels that will have guests talking about your wedding or event for years!

I photographed this retreat, but also had the opportunity to dive into the lessons and experienced firsthand, and it was truly inspiring and moving.
I sincerely hope you get a chance to learn in this kind of environment too.

These retreats are small on purpose to facilitate true connections. To increase your chances of getting a spot I recommend you getting on Julie’s mailing list, so that you learn about the next one from her directly. Her emails are worth reading, too, I always find them interesting and inspiring.
