Katlyn Reilly Photography

Katlyn Reilly Photography Central MA Wedding & Lifestyle photographer serving New England and beyond! I describe my style as a salutary mix of photojournalism and lifestyle photography.

Photographing weddings since 2009, I’ve really honed in my process and approach to wedding photography. Getting the emotions, the journey, the little moments of the day – not just “the shot!” is something that I strive for in every wedding I take on. I truly believe that when you hire a photographer for your wedding day- you should not only enjoy their photographic style, work, and vision, but fee

l comfortable with them as people, too. You are inviting someone in to photograph some of the most intimate moments of your life- so make sure that you like them! The value of a photograph only increases with time, and I want to make sure that what I’m providing for my clients brings them back to the specific moments they hire me to capture. I want you to have that feeling in your chest- you know the one. I want you to remember how you felt on that day. Ahhh, nostalgia. I want clients to have these photographs to cherish of themselves, and their friends and family. I find that sometimes clients aren’t even really aware of how valuable a photograph is until circumstances change. Having beautiful memories of your loved ones to look back on when they aren’t physically here anymore, in my opinion, is priceless.

I started the day with Olivia at Hillside House while my second photographer, Casey, was with Nick in The Cave. Everyone was in high spirits, and the excitement was contagious from the very beginning.

After a sweet first look with her dad, Olivia met Nick for their first look on the lawn overlooking the Inn's barn. They were surrounded by beautiful blooms lovingly planted by Olivia's mother, Faith, who I was told planted more than 1,000 bulbs throughout the property back in October. So much love and care went into creating such a beautiful backdrop for their day.

Following their first look and portraits, we moved right into family photos before the ceremony in the barn. It was heartfelt, emotional, and filled with so much joy. The happiness shared by Olivia, Nick, and their loved ones was truly palpable.

After the ceremony and a few quiet moments together as newlyweds, Olivia and Nick made their way to cocktail hour, where they were greeted with thunderous applause and cheers. The celebration continued with beautiful dances, heartfelt speeches, delicious food, and a packed dance floor.

The night wrapped up with an after-party in the Tavern, complete with late-night French fries, donuts, and karaoke that kept the energy going until the very end.

Olivia & Nick, thank you so much for trusting me to document your wedding day. It was such a joy to spend the day with you and your wonderful family and friends.

Leave some love for the newlyweds below, and until next time...

xo, Katlyn ❤️

I’m so honored to share this special session with you all. ❤️

I recently had the privilege of photographing Danielle and her beautiful family through the incredible nonprofit One Day to Remember. Danielle is currently battling Stage IV metastatic breast cancer, and after years filled with treatments, surgeries, appointments, and unimaginable challenges, her wish was simple: to spend a peaceful day with the people she loves most and create memories they can hold onto forever.

Watching this family together was moving. There was so much love, laughter, strength, and tenderness woven into every moment. Sessions like this are a reminder that photographs are so much more than images — they become pieces of our stories, our connections, and the moments we never want to forget.

Thank you, Danielle, Haley, Autumn, Aaron, and Raymond, for allowing me to document this time for your family. It was truly an honor. ❤️

I’m so excited to share these very special headshots! I first met Jess — ahem, Dr. W — when we were coworkers at the New England Eye Center at Tufts Medical Center. Over the years, we’ve worked together at a few different eye practices as ophthalmic photographers.

Jess made the decision to go back to school to become an Optometrist, and I was SO excited when she asked me to photograph this milestone for her.

Congratulations, Dr. W! I am so proud of you and so excited for this next chapter in your life. Please leave some congratulations for her below ⬇️

Until next time,
Xo, Katlyn

Portraits don’t have to feel like a performance

There’s no posing marathon.
No holding stiff smiles.
No wondering what to do next.

We walk. We pause. We move again.
I give gentle direction when it helps and step back when it doesn’t.

Most of the time, it feels more like a conversation than a photoshoot.

Most couples tell me the same thing at the beginning
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“We’re not photogenic.”
“We’re awkward.”
“We don’t know what to do with our hands.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
None of that is a problem.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don’t need to know how to be photographed.
You just need to be yourselves in the space you’re already in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My job is to take care of the rest. 🥰

The meaning of these photos changes with time

On your wedding day, they’re reminders of how it felt.
A year later, they bring you back to the energy of it all.
Years from now, they become part of your family’s history.

That’s what I’m always thinking about while I’m photographing - not just today, but the version of you who will return to these later.

The best photos come from letting go a little

Not from doing more.
Not from trying harder.
Not from worrying about how it looks.

They come from trusting the day to unfold and allowing yourself to be inside it.

That’s where the honesty lives.
And that’s what lasts.

I don’t stop the day to make photos- I let it move.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Walking instead of standing still.
Laughing instead of posing.
Letting moments happen- and meeting them where they are.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s when things start to feel like real life. And that’s when the photos start to feel like memories.

Not every meaningful moment is serious
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some are laughter breaking the tension.
A shared look that says “can you believe this is happening?”
A moment of levity in the middle of everything else.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These matter too.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They’re often the moments that carry people through the day… and the ones that bring the biggest smiles years later.

Every wedding has a lot of relationships in the room
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some are loud and joyful.
Some are tender.
Some are complicated.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Part of my job is noticing all of it without drawing attention to any of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I photograph families with care-
making space for emotion, and letting people show up exactly as they are.
