“With love from Cape Cod” felt the most fitting opening for this recap. Because nor’easter and all, this weekend could be summed up by, “With love from Cape Cod.”

Let me tell you about Elizabeth. I can confidently say I’ve never watched someone so beautifully dedicated to organization and planning so gracefully pivot and adjust when not a single thing went to plan. I am in absolute awe of her and Stephen and their love.

They were to be married at a private estate - a coastal ceremony followed by a tented reception - and then the forecast started rolling in and solidifying. Every detail had been carefully planned. And ultimately we were hit with the worst of the nor’easter during the exact hours they were celebrating. They made decisions to pivot drastically to prioritize their guests safety and comfort and Elizabeth made those decisions confidently the morning of her wedding day.

Their ability to shift and show up for each other over and over again reveals something about the two of them: this isn’t the first time they’ve made plans in life and had to shift. And the lessons they’ve learned from that? Prioritizing the things that are most important. And there’s something uniquely strong about a love that’s been tested and risen to the occasion again and again that made witnessing their vows (in the middle of a literal nor’easter) in the tight and warm space of a room emptied of furniture and packed with the ones they loved.

At one point on the dance floor Elizabeth looked me in the eyes with the biggest smile on her face and she said, “I’m just SO happy” and I remember walking away knowing she truly meant it. What a joy this day was to witness.

If I could only share one story to describe Peyton and Caleb to a stranger I would tell them that at their own rehearsal dinner they surprised a friend with the most thoughtful, decadent and personalized birthday cake. At their core they are both caring, fun, generous with their people, and always looking for a reason to celebrate someone else. And they embody this in every thoughtful little detail and interaction.

This weekend was packed with emotional and beautiful moments and this evening was the perfect way to kick it off ✨

It turns out that the recipe for the most perfect intimate costal wedding day is to fall in love, purchase the home where Mystic Pizza was filmed, plan a day with your closest friends and family, snuggle your kitty, read your vows on a tugboat in Watch Hill. The. Continue on the way to your ceremony on the dock in the place you call home and then share a simple and sweet father-daughter dance in the very last most serene light of day. It really is that simple.

The joy these two leaned into throughout this entire day made it so evident that they planned a day perfectly suited to them and their journey. Max’s reaction to seeing Ally was absolutely next level and watching them be present in this day together was emotional, to say the least.

What an honor it is to stand beside and guide couples through making dreams like this a reality.

You know when you talk so someone and you leave every conversation feeling a little lighter, a little happier, and a little more sure that there’s more good out there than bad? Yeah, that’s Anne and Mike. Two people who are so clearly joyful on their own, brought together = MAGIC ✨

Our first call we spent dreaming a bit. They shared their vision and I said, “tell me more” - because, truthfully, it feels like I’ve been manifesting this exact Block Island Engagement Session for almost a decade. My husband and I had our own BI photos taken many years ago and finding a couple who has the island magic woven in their story, too, just feels special. Taking the time to get to know them and explore was *everything*

This evening on the island felt a bit like transporting from Italy to Hawai’i and somewhere in there we actually captured the true soul of Block Island. A tourist destination that allows moments of intimacy and memories to be created amidst its numerous tucked-away paths.

To say I’m grateful to have spent the day documenting the magic of these two is the biggest understatement.
