Our Bears took to the field on Tuesday for the first round of states with confidence as the tight team they’ve become this season.

After playing to a scoreless tie at the end of regulation play versus a strong N Branford team, they fought through not one, but two 7v7 overtimes. And then they finished the first round of shootouts tied at one all. Sadly, they fell to North Branford In the second round of shootouts 0-1.

All that said, I’m always grateful to be welcomed on the sidelines each season to capture the action and determination of these young women. It’s so fun to see them grow as student athletes, and as a team. Many thanks to Coach Tucchio and Coach McGugan. You set the bar high! And your players and program reflect that.

Can’t wait to see you next season 😉

They are coming off last week’s BIG win over the EL Vikings in the ECC tournament Final. 🏆

Tomorrow they travel to North Branford for the first round of the state tournament.

So proud of Bears efforts tonight!
After finishing scoreless in regulation, they headed to 7 v 7 OT with fire and topped the Lancers 1-0.

It was the annual Play for the Cure game which raises funds and awareness for breast cancer. May these young ladies know a healthy and cancer free future. 🩷

Next up, you can cheer them on at East Lyme on Thursday. Varsity starts at 5:30, JV at 7:00.
