Managed to shove the way tundra down to the very end of this spur where it becomes a dirt bike/hiking trail. Found an absolutely kingly campsite. It’s rare for me to want to spend 2 nights in a row at one spot, 1 get antsy, but this one got me.
Need to put shocks on this truck so bad before late summer event szn. Thing feels like driving a pogo stick off-road 😂

11 favorites from Friday evening’s sunset at one of my new favorite places. Nestled somewhere between the Elk range & Collegiate Peaks; this boggy lily pond sits @ 10,500 ft. These were (all but 1) taken while sopping wet just after stepping into the water only to fall into a much deeper than anticipated peaty abyss. Very quicksandesque. Unexpected cold plunge had me yelping like a baby moose. Reel incoming soon on that.
Next morning my lens was full of condensation from its quick baptism; happy the camera somehow kept working this night though. I love all these photos. Playing with the vibrant sunset reflections in the lily pond was a dream. I wanna go back with full waders and tie myself into a winch line so I can wade out and get these flowers up close in the foreground sooooo bad.

Few more photos from the first morning I was able to get up Mt. Blue Sky this season.
