Your engagement session doesn’t need to feel super posed or serious. Honestly, it should just feel like you two hanging out together. Laughing, joking around, running around a field, chasing the sunset, whatever feels natural to your relationship.

The best engagement photos happen when you’re just being yourselves and not worrying about “doing it right.” I’ll guide you the whole time, but I always want your session to feel relaxed and fun instead of forced.

Engagement sessions are also such a good chance for us to get comfortable with each other before the wedding day. By the time your wedding comes around, it won’t feel like I’m just your photographer showing up with a camera. It’ll feel way more natural and easy.

At the end of the day, I want your photos to feel like real memories of you two, full of movement, laughter, connection, and the little in-between moments you’ll want to remember years from now.

You might be wondering… what does the morning of your wedding actually look like when it comes to photos?

Every morning is a little different, depending on what matters most to you and what you want documented.

Most wedding days start with getting ready moments. This includes those final touches of hair and makeup, your dress hanging or being styled, detail shots and flatlays, and those in-between moments of you and your people just being together.

From there, the day starts to pick up. You’ll get into your dress, and if you’ve chosen to do a first look, that’s usually next.
The morning tends to feel slower, and that’s a good thing. It’s your time to settle in, be present, and ease into everything. It really does set the tone for the rest of your day.

A few things to keep in mind:
Have your dress and suits steamed and ready to go, keep all your details in one spot for your photographer, put together a fun, upbeat playlist, and don’t forget to drink water and eat something (this one gets overlooked all the time).
