To say this year has been tough is an understatement. Les than six months after loosing my Daddy to cancer, I lost my hero—my grandfather, Donnie Brown. Saturday, we celebrated his life and today we laid him to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery.
I was privileged to be the granddaughter of a man who devoted his life to saving those impacted by alcoholism. He founded MARR, Metro Atlanta Recovery Residence. He saved and impacted thousands of lives. It was an honor to hear so many tell their stories of how Pawp saved their lives at his celebration of life. He was published in several national magazines, was honored by the governor and he was cherished by his family. He loved us fiercely and his greatest legacy was setting an example for us to love and serve others. Even in retirement, he served others by building bluebird boxes that the dementia/Alzheimer’s program at FUMC Lawrenceville painted. In turn, those were sold and the proceeds supported Hope clinic.
He was the most selfless man I’ve ever known. He was full of mischief and he told you exactly what he thought—even if it was hard to hear. He loved chasing our girls around the house—even with his walker. The world is a better place and thousands have a second chance at life because of him. Our family has a hole in one hearts that will never be filled. He was the rock of our family—married to my Gran for 71 years. What a blessing it was to have my precious Pawp—my hero—the best grandfather a girl could ever hope to have—for 44 years of my life. —“Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23

Michael & Macy

What an absolute privilege it was for us to capture this beautiful wedding!! I adored this sweet family when we shot Macy’s older sister, Blakelee’s wedding, and to get to work with them a second time was truly special. We had our eyes on the radar all day with the looming storms but miraculously, it only rained during the ceremony and the last hour of the reception. Michael and Macy had a beautiful, Christ-centered ceremony and celebration surrounded by their closest friends and family. Congratulations, y’all! May you experience every blessing as you begin this new journey together!!

Sam & Madison

Y’all—we had every kind of weather in an hour…sun, rain, lightning and thunder…we were in and out of the car between pop ups trying to get their session in—but we were rewarded with a gorgeous rainbow which made it SO worth the craziness! All through it, these two were laughing, enjoying one another and making memories! Sweet Cooper braved the weather for an appearance in a few of their photos. Loved getting wet with these two and can’t wait for their spring wedding!!
