A few favorites from a recent studio dance session. 🩰

One of the things I love most about photographing older dancers is getting to create something beyond recital portraits.

A little movement.
A little artistry.
A little personality.

The result feels less like documenting a costume and more like creating a portrait of who they are right now.

The tiny dancers deserve their own little moment too.

Recital day photos are wonderful for remembering the performance, but they can be busy, crowded, and a little rushed — especially for the youngest dancers.

A studio costume session gives you something softer, cleaner, and more personal. The little poses. The big personality. The sweet details in the costume you spent all season looking at.

These sessions are simple, guided, and perfect for dancers who may only give me 30 seconds of serious ballerina before the giggles take over.
