It truly is so special being invited into someone’s home to capture the first few days or weeks of their new baby and their new family as a whole. I never take it for granted because you’re allowing me into your home and to hold and document such an important milestone in all of your family’s life, it’s truly so so special🤍

Let’s talk about a topic that’s a bit controversial - children’s images and AI.

I started photography to capture my first daughter’s every milestone. Earlier this year, I made the decision to stop sharing children’s images to my public accounts. After posting photos of my daughter and other children, I noticed an increase in followers, saves and unusual likes by bot accounts or accounts from people who weren’t in the local area. It made me feel very uneasy..

Now AI… With the rise of new technology and the way photos and even videos get misused has always made me feel uneasy. It has validated my feelings about children’s photos and sharing them to public platforms. Although I still share photos of my children and other children to my private account, close friends lists and my private photography group on facebook.

Another AI topic - clients editing their images with AI. Al alters the quality, the colors, the details, and ultimately the image I take so much time to edit, and it is noticeable to your photographer. Another photographer, editor, or Al program is not allowed to alter or edit the images per most photographer’s contract.

When an Al tool changes a Photographers image, it is no longer their work. Think of it like you doing the work and someone else taking the credit. That’s precisely what’s happening and to be honest, it’s a little bit hurtful to a creative even if it’s done innocently.

I know there are photographer’s who use AI to cull and/or edit their images. I completely understand the need for it in different business aspects and the ease of it. I completely respect everyone’s difference in opinions, photography related or not!

Announcement✨

As my oldest daughter reaches school age, we've decided that homeschooling is the best fit for our family. Because of this new chapter, my availability during the school year will be much more limited.

With that in mind, I have made the decision to step away from booking full weddings for new clients. I will continue to photograph weddings for my existing wedding clients, as well as elopements and micro weddings. Building a relationship with a new wedding client involves so much more than just showing up on the wedding day. From consultations and timeline planning to communication throughout the entire process, I want to be able to give every client the time and attention they deserve. As I adjust to homeschooling, I know this is the best decision for both my family and my clients. This isn't a goodbye to weddings forever, just a little break while I settle into this new season of life.

As many of you know, fall and the holiday season are my busiest time of year. Each year my calendar fills up faster than the last, and this year has been no exception. At this time, aside from mini sessions, I am fully booked for August and October. I have limited availability remaining in September and November, while December still has more openings. All of my Fall Mini sessions and 1 of 2 of my Christmas Mini session dates are now open for booking. These will be the only mini session dates offered for the remainder of the year, so if you've been waiting to book, now is the time!

I also have availability for two more newborn sessions with due dates in December or later.
If you've been thinking about scheduling a session, please don't wait too long to reach out.

As a reminder, your session date is not reserved until both your contract has been signed and your retainer has been paid. Until then, your requested date remains available for other clients to book.

Resharing as a friendly reminder since I’ve received quite a bit of requests this past week🤍

✨ Your session is not fully booked until a contract is signed & retainer is paid. Your requested date isn’t set on my calendar and is still open for booking until both are completed.

Here’s a quick reminder of when I suggest to schedule a few different types of sessions:

I know weekends are the easiest for most families, so I just wanted to share that those spots are booking up about 3 months in advance. If weekends work best for you, I suggest booking your session early!

* Newborn Sessions: Book at the beginning of your 3rd trimester. These sessions are done when baby is under 10 days old.

* Fresh 48 Sessions: Also best to book at the start of your 3rd trimester.

* Maternity Sessions: Should be booked at least 4–6 weeks in advance, ideally scheduled when you’re between 28–32 weeks pregnant.

Your session isn’t officially reserved on my calendar until the contract is signed and the retainer is paid. Until then, it can be hard for me to keep track of requested dates, so be sure to complete both to secure your spot 🤍

Also, a quick update: I am currently not taking on any weddings, but I am still available for elopements!
