Definitely one of the coolest shoots of the week! I had the opportunity to hang out and photograph the U.S. Navy Blue Angels on a stop at Penn State Health Golisano Children's Hospital and, even better, spend time with some truly incredible pediatric patients.

Wrapped up documenting my third back-to-back higher ed commencement this month. There’s something special about capturing both the loud celebrations (and sometimes wet weather!) and the quiet moments as graduates get ready to take on what’s next. Here are just a few of my favorites...Congrats to all the Gettysburg College, Elizabethtown College, and Widener University Commonwealth Law School grads!!!

Last week I had the chance to photograph some of the super fun and amazing Penn State Health nurses and staff as they came in bright and early for their shifts. I’m always inspired by their positivity, dedication, and everything they do for others every single day.

Kicked off my 2026 commencement coverage today with a fun, but wet one at Elizabethtown College. Despite the rain, the smiles, cheers, and excitement never let up. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Photo #7 in the album (dad snapping a photo), #11 (grad standing in line) and #12 (athletes with Truman the dog) are photos by Elizabethtown College photographers.

Douglas Christopher Legore at DLM and I love to collaborate. Last week’s shoot was an epic one! We rented a very cool studio space and did a combined photo and video shoot for a large client. The bright, airy space allowed for a full seamless photo studio setup, with plenty of room for video interviews...and some crossover space for b-roll and environmental portraits. Outside made for some great selfies. We each run our own independent businesses, but together, we’re unstoppable (and super fun to work with)!

Meet Ron and Lisa.

After serious health issues and a leg amputation, Ron was confined to his Hummelstown home for five months. The house wasn’t wheelchair accessible, making it impossible for him to get outside.

Thanks to God’s Helping Hands and volunteers from Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a ramp was built...finally giving Ron the freedom to leave his home again.

I had the privilege of spending some time documenting the construction of the ramp and capturing Ron’s first outing in months.

A slow snow day called for bringing the “sled” out of hibernation.

Silver Spring Township’s Vincent DiFilippo Nature Preserve has long been one of our favorite walking spots, and I’ve been itching to capture it with my drone after a fresh blanket of snow.

With the Conodoguinet Creek wrapped in white, today felt perfect.

After shoveling out a take-off and landing pad (and earning a few puzzled looks), I sent it up for a fun flight.

Check out 40 seconds of peaceful winter magic along the creek!

It was a fun Friday morning meeting educators and staff while documenting the Catherine Hershey School convocation at its New Danville location. Exciting to see another outstanding early childhood education center preparing to open this summer!

We did it!

This time of year, it’s easy to look back. We all do it. We reflect on what went well, what could have gone better, and what we might do differently next time. We can’t change the past, and we can’t dwell on it...but we can learn from it. And while mistakes are a part of life, maybe we can dodge a few.

There were a lot of “we’s” in that paragraph for a reason.

None of this happens alone...whether in business or in everyday life. We move forward by working together.

Looking ahead is a little tougher. There are unknowns, what-ifs, and days that will feel like they’re moving at 150 mph. But when you have people around you that you trust...clients, colleagues, spouses, friends, family...and they trust you back, navigating the chaos becomes a whole lot easier. Teamwork always wins the day.

I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing clients and collaborators I work with day to day. Together, we plan, we execute, and we get things done!

A quick look back at 2025 shows just how much we accomplished. Minick Photography, LLC completed over 140 shoots, including a few large projects and campaigns, countless commercial and documentary shoots, hundreds of portraits, video shoots, video assists, and drone flights.

There were a lot of “we’s” in every one of those shoots.

As I look ahead to 2026, I’m both nervous and excited. It’s shaping up to be a milestone year:
• 20 years in my commercial photography business (35 years total behind the camera)
• 20 amazing years of marriage with my wife, Erin (God bless her for that!)
• And I turn 20… okay, fine—55 (but let’s not get stuck on that part)

I’m ready to take on new projects and push myself to create the coolest photography, video, and drone work I can...that we can.

I love what I do. But I really love what we do.

Here’s to a prosperous New Year for all of us!

Cheers,

Jason
