Many of you walked alongside our family through the darkest season of our lives after we lost Beau. You prayed, gave, encouraged, and carried us when we couldn’t carry ourselves. I will never forget that kindness.

Today, I’m asking our community to rally around one of my former students and his family. Last weekend, they experienced the unimaginable loss of their daughter and sister.

As someone who has walked this road, I know there are no words that can take away this kind of pain. But I also know the impact of people who show up, pray hard, give generously, and remind a grieving family that they are not alone.

Agape and his family have a strong faith in the Lord. While tragedy has struck, we know God is near to the brokenhearted. One truth that carried us through our own loss was this: if it’s not good, God’s not done.

Beau! Today would have been your 5th birthday.

And so, today, we choose joy. We choose laughter. We choose peace in knowing you are celebrating in heaven with Jesus.

We miss you more than words can explain, but today we choose to remember the gift of who you are. You were an angel from the moment you entered this world, quiet and wide-eyed at birth, simply staring at us as if you understood something we didn’t. You had the most infectious laugh, a smile that lit up every room, an appetite that always made us laugh, and a love for Emma that was so sweet and pure. Your heart was so full of joy, and somehow that joy still finds us even now.

Though your time here was far too short, your life continues to ripple far beyond ours. Your heart beats in Eli. Your liver keeps Leonel strong. Your kidneys brought healing to a woman in her 40s. And your little brother Jack carries the torch, reminding us every day that your light did not leave with you.

You are the reason we fight harder, love deeper, and hold tighter to what matters. You are our hero, and you will forever be our little boy.

Happy 5th birthday, Beau. We will speak your name for the rest of our lives and honor you in how we live, love, and help others.

Until we see you again, sweet boy. We can’t wait for heaven with you. 🤍

This family was one of many I photographed this season, but I chose these images because they perfectly capture the heart of this space. The light, the warmth, the togetherness. This is the in McKinney, and it was such a gift to create here.

I photographed at least 15 families in this home, and not a single session felt the same. Every family brought their own story, their own love, their own beautiful chaos. This space somehow held all of it and reflected it back in the most timeless way.

This season I photographed over 50 families, and I don’t take that lightly. Being invited into your holiday season, your Christmas cards, your memories, is something I am deeply grateful for. I love capturing real life. The in between moments. The laughter. The mess. The love that lives in the middle of it all.

I also want to say thank you to for opening their home to photographers and allowing us to create within such a beautiful, thoughtfully curated space. It is truly special, and honestly a dream of mine to one day own a place like this where photographers can come, feel inspired, and showcase their creativity and craft.

This season filled my cup. I love my job, and I’m so thankful for every family, every moment, and every space that made it possible 🤍 Merry Christmas 🎄

When you’re a photographer, taking pictures of your own family is a whole different challenge. So you call in the in-laws and the amazing Aunt Dede to save the day and capture the magic.

I take photos of Santa and families every year, but these… these mean the most to me. Maybe next year Jack won’t be so scared, but honestly those crying photos are absolutely priceless.
