It’s been a while since I did a Restaurant Spotlight! 🍽️🍷

I was recently back at Rare Steakhouse in downtown Madison for a branding shoot, and once again, it was such a fun one to photograph.

From a smoked Old Fashioned, to gorgeous ribeye, and table side Bananas Foster. Rare is all about the experience as much as the meal.

Huge thanks to Owen, their GM, for being so wonderful to work with.

Zeus understood the assignment. He just had his own ideas about the timeline.

This beautiful 3-year-old boy came into the studio ready to PLAY. Sitting still for portraits? Not exactly high on his agenda.

But here’s the thing: your dog doesn’t have to be perfectly behaved to have beautiful portraits.

I’m patient. We play. We take breaks. We let them be themselves. And I wait for that tiny millisecond when the ears are up, the eyes connect, and everything comes together.

Then…CLICK.

Zeus gave me plenty of those milliseconds.

And hearing his family say they had so many great images to choose from AND are already looking forward to family and senior portraits? That’s the kind of review that makes my day.

If you’ve ever thought, “My dog could NEVER sit still for professional portraits,” bring me your wild child. I’m not scared. 😎

🎉🎉 I HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS! 🎉🎉

Not one, but TWO of my senior portraits were selected to be published in Senior Muse Magazine!

And I couldn’t love the two images they chose more.

Two completely different seniors. Two completely different vibes. And THAT is what I love about senior photography.

Your senior portraits shouldn’t look like everyone else’s. They should look like YOU — your personality, your style, your story.

Seeing these two images recognized by Senior Muse is pretty darn special.
