Life lately 🌼
On Christmas Day I severely fractured my tibia and tibia plateau, shattered my knee cartilage, and tore my meniscus in a four wheeler accident with Titus. Titus je**ed the handle bars while we were going down a hill which caused us to roll. I stuck my leg out to stop the four wheeler from rolling onto Titus. Thankfully that allowed Titus to hop off in time, but unfortunately I did a lot of damage to my leg in the process. I’ve undergone 2 surgeries so far to repair all of the damage and now have some quite a few plates, rods, and screws holding my leg together. I’m still not able to put any weight on my leg, so I’ve pretty much been bed ridden since Christmas. I’m hoping to be walking again in 6 weeks, but I still have a long road ahead of me and a lot of physical therapy to heal. This has been one of the most difficult and painful experiences of my life. If you know me well, you know I need to be moving at all times and on the go; so being unable to even walk or do most things unassisted has been torture. I’ve being reading/listening to audiobooks and building legos to fill the time. Trying to take it one day at a time and getting stronger each day. And thankful for my friends and family that have stepped up to help us with meals, keeping me company, keeping Lilly (our puppy), and helping keep Titus. I don’t know what we’d do without them ❤️
