We feel like Crested Butte is the obvious first choice for elopements in Colorado, like even if someone knows absolutely nothing about Colorado, they at least know about the wildflower capital of the State... But do they know how CRAZY busy it can be?

Don't get us wrong, we love Crested Butte, but if its not your absolute dream, we tend to recommend places that are a bit more private! Also: try and avoid eloping during the wildflower festival because WOW is that a crazy time to be on the road or the trails!

If you do want a location that isnt usually too busy, we have a few spots around Crested Butte that are more quiet (or at least large enough that people are spread out and dont feel on top of you) and would need a jeep or some hiking to get to!

Now, Crested Butte does have absolute gems: the wildflower trails in the edge of town are breathtaking and are our favorite spot for lupines anywhere in the state! Also the town is just super quaint and it feels like a true mountain town!

Washington has become one of our favorite places to make plan elopements for because you can combine moody, epic beach adventures with rainforests that feel otherworldly!

April was a fantastic time to elope on the West side of Washington, it wasn’t too cold and it felt like the parks were pretty empty (we rarely saw anyone on the trails or on the coast!)

You can stay at Port Angeles for options for lodging, restaurants, and other amenities! We are still building our recommendation guide, so stay tunes for more ideas for Washington Elopements!

Sooo, let’s start off by saying we LOVE Arches National Park & Canyonlands National Park. Arches in particular is sooo unique, magical and just honestly gorgeous.

But, we specialize in Moab elopements in wild locations, and while the National Parks can absolutely feel wild, they don’t when there’s 30,000 other people there.

So that’s one of many reasons why we love BLM & National Forests for elopements! Many of the best off-roading trails in Moab are also on BLM land, and it’s truly one of our favorite ways to include adventure in your day while also getting to see places most tourists will never venture to.

And yes, both BLM land and the National Parks do require permits, but as of 2026 Moab BLM land doesn’t require a permit if your total guest count is 6 or less (this includes any vendors and you two as well), so BLM land is perfect for “just us” elopements! We’ve also found that while they both may require permits, the National Parks are far more competitive with permits, so we recommend applying at least 6 months in advance (even up to a year).

Oh and camping, much less competitive at BLM sites than in the national parks from our personal experience (we were able to snag a first come, first served campsite on BLM land, while the National Parks were fully booked)

Plus, you could always explore both BLM land and the National Parks for your Moab elopement experience: day 1 hiking to a hidden mesa or canyon, off-roading to an overlook for sunset where you have your ceremony with no one else around. Then day 2 exploring Arches, including hiking to delicate Arch for sunrise and a picnic by double arch.

We know where the magic is. and when to be there. and trust us, it's going to be unreal. hit the link in our bio and let's start planning your Moab Elopement. ✨
