Last Friday, i hung up some work The Sitch. I then enjoyed their cocktails and ambience at their First Friday Dance Party. It was a great night! If you haven’t made it out to The Sitch, I highly recommend going there. Bonus, if you go during the month of August, you’ll get to see some of my photography on display! All pieces are available for purchase and available in a variety of sizes!

If you missed opening night last Friday, you’ve still got time to check out the amazing group show I’m a part of at the Resonator Gallery in Turbine Flats Project!

Works from 36 artists, curated by Magnolia 🌸 Art Project, are included in “This Must Be the Place: Works Exploring Home, Memory & Belonging,” featuring ECHO Collective artisans and friends.

I have 6 pieces in the show. The exhibition will be on view throughout August and many of the works are for sale!

My printer is getting a work out today! I’ve got two shows on Friday - one a group show at Resonator at Turbine Flats Project and the other a solo show at The Sitch. Plus, I’m prepping work for my September show at LUX Center for the Arts. So, I’ll be spending my week printing, matting, framing and hanging! You better believe I’ll be ready to kick back and enjoy First Friday on the 7th!

While my printer is currently humming away, I thought I’d share a new photograph. This one was just taken in June. I’m drawn to the all the vertical lines of the lighthouse, trash can, tourist and pole - all contrasted against the soft fluffiness of the clouds.

Lately, I’ve been drawn to dramatic clouds. I’m also very intentional with framing when I capture a photograph and very rarely crop at all in post processing. With that said, this photograph was taken in portrait orientation; but I thought it worked much better as a landscape. In the original image, I found my eyes not even looking at the bottom half of it, so I just cropped it out. Compositionally, I think the photograph is much stronger now. Hopefully you all agree.

This summer has flown by… and I can’t believe in only a month my kids will be back in school. These last 6 weeks have been filled with trips and tons of family time and I’ve loved every minute of it!

Now, I’m gearing up for a busy August, September and October! My art calendar is getting booked and I can’t wait to share all that’s coming in the next few months. I’ve got some shows and markets that should be a ton of fun.

In anticipation for those shows, I’ll be posting some new work - starting with this one! I took this shot literally in the Grand Canyon during the heat of the day of our grueling hike. The fluffy clouds were picturesque, but provided little relief.

Hey everyone! I entered two photos into Pinnacle Bank's Nebraska Calendar Photo Contest and they have both been selected as finalists! If you're so inclined, I would love your vote to become one of the 12 photographers to be featured in the calendar. All you have to do is "like" or "love" my photographs. You can find my first photo, "Sunset Stroll" in the Spring album and my second photograph, "Between Two Friends" in the Winter album. (I'll put links to each photograph in the comments to make it easy!) Thank you so much for your support!
