And she said to me, "I'm sorry, we're leaving you out."

And I replied, "I'm never left out."

Pause...."yes, queen!"

That's happened to me this weekend at a pirate luau birthday pool party.

This is what I want for you as well. To be so secure in yourself. That you're never left out, to feel so strong in your own person that you are unbothered, unfazed and comfortable.

And that your intention, anytime, anywhere and in any situation to stand tall is the queen you are.

One day you'll wish you had more photographs.
Not because you looked perfect.
Not because everything in life was exactly how you wanted it to be.
But because you were here.
Living.
Growing.
Becoming.
I hear women say all the time that they wish they had more photos of their younger selves.
More reminders.
More proof.
More memories.
What they miss isn't perfection.
It's presence.
Years from now, these images won't just show what you looked like.
They'll remind you who you were.
The dreams you were chasing.
The battles you were surviving.
The woman you were becoming.
And that is priceless.

Nobody talks enough about how much fun confidence can be.

People imagine these sessions are serious.

Deep.

Emotional.

And sometimes they are.

But sometimes they're filled with uncontrollable laughter, awkward dancing, bad jokes, and the kind of joy that makes your cheeks hurt.

One of my favorite moments is when a client forgets she's supposed to be nervous.

She starts laughing.

Playing.

Being herself.

And suddenly the magic happens.

Not because she became someone else.

Because she stopped trying to be.

Healing doesn't always arrive wrapped in tears.

Sometimes it arrives giggling.

And honestly, that's one of my favorite kinds.

If your daughter stood where you stand today, would you see art or flaws?

Most women answer that question instantly.

They would see beauty.

Grace.

Potential.

A masterpiece.

Yet when they look at themselves, the conversation changes.

The standards become impossible.

The criticism becomes louder.

The appreciation disappears.

Here's what I've learned after photographing so many incredible women:

The things you worry about most are rarely what others notice.

What they see is your smile.

Your energy.

Your courage.

Your story.

You are not a project that needs fixing.

You are a masterpiece that deserves to be remembered.

And masterpieces deserve to be documented.

Nobody is coming to hand you permission.
Not permission to feel beautiful.
Not permission to take up space.
Not permission to celebrate yourself.
For so many women, life becomes a waiting room.
"I'll do it when I lose weight."
"I'll do it when the kids are older."
"I'll do it when I have more money."
"I'll do it when I feel more confident."
But confidence isn't usually what comes first.
The decision comes first.
The courage comes first.
The willingness to show up for yourself comes first.
I've watched women arrive feeling nervous and leave realizing they never needed anyone else's permission.
The moment they chose themselves was.....
Everything.

Sometimes the most powerful thing a woman can do is stop waiting.

I did a first this weekend.

Something that pushed my comfortability and the life long training to conform.

Something I've thought of doing lots of times and always back out because of fear.

I experienced a level of freedom.

Often people think freedom is external. Really, it's a state of mind or existing.

I did it despite my fear, and even though my friends said that they could not tell that I was uncomfortable.

I definitely was.
I'm also proud of myself to push my comfortability means to push everything.

What I think about myself, how I relate myself in society and what's expected of me.

When was the last time you looked at yourself with kindness?

Not evaluation.

Not criticism.

Not searching for flaws.

Just kindness.

Many women spend years becoming experts at finding everything they wish was different.

A few extra pounds.

A scar.

A wrinkle.

A story they wish had never happened.

Then they see their images.

And for a moment, they stop looking for what's wrong.

They notice their strength.

Their beauty.

Their resilience.

The way their eyes still sparkle after everything they've survived.

Sometimes self-love doesn't begin with confidence.

Sometimes it begins with compassion.

And that can change everything.
