A few pics from this season. Real Salt Lake has a pretty great chance this year to make a push into the postseason. I know it's early. However, I've watched this team up close for several years now and I think they have a competitive team!

I am literally Always grateful for the opportunities provided me by those who made it possible to shoot this incredible MLS team! From radio, to magazine, to various teams and players. I'm still in awe of the fact that I was able to watch the goat, Lionel Messi, from mere feet away, do his thing! I'm always thankful for the life I am blessed to enjoy!

Watching Messi play up-close and personal was truly incredible! His type of play unreal. I've caught glimpses of that style of play in a few other players over the years. Including, RSL's DeAndre Yedlin. Simply the best! Still awestruck!

Leo Messi and Inter Miami CF played Real Salt Lake at America First Field - It was a packed, Sold Out crowd. The attendance was the 4th largest home game in AFF history with 21,512 fans.

RSL held Miami to 0-0 until the 82nd minute when Rodrigo De Paul scored for Inter-Miami. Less than a minute later, Luis Suarez added a second goal. Shortly after that, Messi had a chance to score but was stopped by multiple defenders. There was a flyover by four F-35 fighter jets to start yhe match. A drone show was also presented, pre-game, halftime, and post-game. A heavy downpour dampened the pitch early in the 2nd half. Several fans charged the field, in hopes to touch Messi. I counted 7 fans who were detained/arrested. The final score was 2-0, Miami.

Real Salt Lake hosted Sporting Kansas City Saturday in match day 6. RSL's Diego Luna made his first start of the season. Returning from a preseason knee injury. His goal came early in the 4th minute of play. That goal set the tone for the match as RSL played very aggressive. With 23 shots by RSL compared with only 3 by Kansas City, including 7 corner kicks; RSL managed to score 3 times: Luna 4', then Sergi Solans 55', Zavier Gozo 82'. Sporting's Joveljic scored their only goal in minute 59. He had a second goal called back due to being offsides. The SOLD OUT stadium was packed with enthusiastic fans as the home team won its 3rd home match and are now tied with Seattle for 4th place in the Western Conference at 4 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss.

Last month, I won an award from the San Francisco Bay Area Press Club. It was for "excellence in journalism" with a photograph I took in December 2024 for St. Mary's College.

The Sports Information Director, Ryan Barnett, wrote the article in which my photograph appeared, along with a couple of others (shown below). However, the first photo was selected by the committee as FIRST PLACE in the category of College Media/Sports Photography.

I was notified about the award in an email last month. However, I just received the certificate in the mail. I thought I'd share it.
