If there’s one thing autumn reminds me, it’s that beauty doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s found in the fading sunlight, the colors of the season, and a single moment that makes you stop and appreciate being right where you are. I captured this photo right along the shore path at Library Park in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. I was out photographing birds with my Sony 200–600mm lens when, to my surprise, I spotted this hummingbird less than 15 feet away. You never know what incredible moments nature has waiting for you.

The other day on Geneva Lake, I captured this incredible moment as a bald eagle took flight. Moments like this remind me that some of life’s greatest gifts aren’t found by searching for them. They find us when we slow down enough to notice.

I’m continually grateful for these encounters with nature. They remind me of the beauty that exists when we step away from the noise of everyday life and allow ourselves to simply be present.

We live in a world that constantly demands our attention. We scroll, we watch, we consume, and sometimes we become so absorbed in the digital world that we forget the real one is unfolding all around us.

Step outside. Take a walk. Look up. Listen. Be still. Even if a photograph like this catches your eye while scrolling, let it be a reminder to experience that beauty for yourself. You might be surprised by how the world speaks to you when you slow down enough to listen. 🦅

I captured this shot of a striking bald eagle near Covenant Harbor on Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Lake Geneva is becoming incredibly rich with wildlife — bald eagles are becoming a more common sight. I recommend finding a quiet bench, slowing down, and simply watching for 15 minutes — you’d be amazed what shows up.

🚨 PREPARATIONS ARE UNDERWAY! 🚨

Lake Geneva is getting ready for something BIG! 🌊🔥

Crews are currently preparing Riviera Beach for tomorrow’s Red Bull Rush Delivery on Geneva Lake — bringing a completely new twist to one of Lake Geneva’s most iconic traditions: the legendary mail jumpers. 📬🚤

Tomorrow, 40 competitors will go head-to-head, racing from a moving boat onto specially constructed docks, delivering a package and racing back to the boat — all against the clock! ⏱️

The 10 fastest competitors will advance to the final round, where additional obstacles will put their speed, balance and agility to the test.
