Joy has been a family friend of Meg and her family for almost two decades now. So, when they met, Joy was just a little girl when Meg was in high school. Her name truly is who she is. …And her family is also golden. It was surreal to be back at the church where Meg spent most of her high school years and where we also were married. It’s very rare that we get to capture a wedding day in the town where we live and getting to capture this day surrounded by so many family friends was such a privilege. It truly took us back to our own beginning and was such a reminder of how beautiful time is. Joy and Jacob were given the most perfect day. As I went through to pick out these sneak peeks, I couldn’t help but notice how many photos there are of everyone embracing these two. To say they are loved and supported is an understatement. They truly are a perfect match. And Joy, you truly exude Joy ❤️

About three years ago, I meet up with Rachael to capture her family photos with her three beautiful children. …and at this year’s family photo session, there was an addition to their sweet family and I got to meet Neal. What an absolute privilege to be there on their wedding day this weekend to capture the union and grafting of this lovely family. It’s very rare that I cry when editing at home, but when both Meg and I got to the moments of Rachael’s daughter giving her speech at their reception, we both instantly couldn’t help it. Truly, this was the loveliest day in so many ways.

Something I’ve come to love so much are infant sessions that include older siblings ❤️ Coming from experience in our own household, I know that bringing home Baby #2, or more is a beautiful season, but it’s also a massive shift and transition not just for the parents, but siblings too. I always want to make sure that big brother or sister are seen, captured, and given extra attention and encouragement during their sibling’s infant session. It can be such a special way to encourage bonding and reinforce confidence that they are deeply loved and just as special as their newest sibling ❤️ often, when mom and the baby need a feeding break, it’s usually the perfect time to grab some fun and silly photos of the older siblings and getting dad involved makes it even more fun.

Often it’s the littlest ones that have the biggest personality! If you’ve joined me for a family session before, then you know nothing is ever overly serious, haha. Of course we’ll get those classic, “everyone looking at the camera” photos. But it’s the quick flashes of personality that I love to capture the most! There’s always time to laugh, play, and let your kiddos personalities be seen!
