They can feel like a really good afternoon. The kind where you slow down a little, laugh a lot, and just exist in this moment before everything changes.

Because that’s what senior year actually is—it’s a transition. A mix of excitement, uncertainty, confidence, and growth. And the photos should reflect that, not hide it behind forced poses or expectations.
When I photograph seniors, I’m not trying to fit you into a mold. I want to create space for you to feel comfortable, to move, to be yourself, and to actually enjoy the experience.

So when you look back on these images, you don’t just see what you looked like… you remember what it felt like to be you in this season.

For any soon to be moms, this is a word of encouragement for you. Let me assure you you don’t have to have it all together before the baby comes. When my firstborn came, I didn’t have a hospital bag packed in time, I didn’t have the nursery even halfway put together, and I think I only had about 4 PJs and like 3 onesies for her (which they happen to go through a lot, especially in the dead of winter). 🙃🫠

But you know what?

That baby was loved to pieces (and still is). Everything turned out just OK. And what we did have was a wonderful, loving family (yay for over-excited grandparents!!) and a super strong community of friends that filled in all our gaps.

Don’t do more than you have to. Graciously welcome help. Don’t stress about making everything Pinterest-perfect. And don’t compare yourself to what everyone you follow is doing. Just get excited about that bundle of joy you’ll soon be snuggling. 🤗

A thoughtfully planned afternoon that somehow still feels completely effortless 🌿

There’s a quiet kind of beauty in the everyday when you slow down enough to notice it. A blanket spread in the grass, colors that feel alive in the sunlight, kids moving freely between laughter and curiosity—nothing forced, just life unfolding as it is.

These are the moments I’ve learned to look for in my own days with my kids! The small, ordinary pieces that don’t seem like much at first, but together become something deeply meaningful.

This is what I hope to preserve in a family session: not perfection, but connection. Not a performance, but a reflection of real life—simple, colorful, and full of feeling. 🤍
