Mamas, here’s your reminder that the days may be long but the years are short. So soak in every moment you can before your baby isn’t a baby anymore. I promise you that no matter how many photos and videos you take of them right now, 5-10 years from now it won’t feel like enough.

You will want so bad to hear their noises, even their cries, hear their babbling. So take all the photos, all the videos, even take voice recordings. You’ll never regret it or say you have too much because it’s never enough.

Towards the end of every session is when everyone starts to relax and is less about “we are taking photos” and more of playfulness and “this is so much fun!”

Dancing, hugging, tickling, and watching the sunset. Those are the memories this family will hold onto forever.

It didn’t matter that the little ones wanted to be independent and not cooperate for the group photos, because it’s a memory of a season that won’t last forever.

Family photo sessions in the smoky mountains are epic and a memory worth capturing!

2 years ago September my family and I did the hardest thing we’ve ever done. We packed up our house and my dream photography studio in Northern California and moved to East Tennessee.

We knew it would be hard, but we needed to leave our home state that didn’t align with our morals and values and move to a place where we could raise our kids in a wholesome community.

That meant leaving behind my dream studio of 10 years and my wonderful clients, some who have been with me since I opened my business 19 years ago.

We took the biggest step of faith leaving everything we knew behind and starting from scratch. And while it’s been challenging to say the least, we have grown in so many ways and have BIG dreams and goals for what our future will look like here in East Tennessee.

2 years in the South and this feels like home. The people, the beauty, the community, this is what we had been missing in California.

Building this business from the ground up in a new state when I used to be 100% booked all the time has been very humbling. I love that I get to photograph people on vacation in the smoky mountains and have worked with wonderful clients locally and I am looking forward to photographing more new families as they find my little corner of the internet here or ones whom I get to chat with in person.
