It’s always so sweet to be able to capture special moments in the lives of couples. We first met Sierra and Blake when we took their engagement photos 9 years ago, and then we captured their wedding, maternity pictures for their fist baby, and now for their second baby. They will soon be a family of four, and the UT Gardens in Knoxville were blooming beautifully for their maternity pictures. “Spring is when life’s alive in everything.” - Rossetti

It was a windy day on the Foothills Parkway for Katie and Cody’s maternity pictures last Friday before the storms arrived! We dodged the rain and enjoyed the breeze! They are expecting their first (human) baby soon, and their fur baby Creed is going to be a big brother!

It always feels good to step into Greenbrier in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with the fresh air and flowing river. Anna and Steven’s wedding was one of those days where everything slows down, everyone lives fully in the moment, and we all appreciate the beauty of being in the mountains. Their wedding by the river was meaningful and personal as they read their hand written vows to each other from a soft leather notebook.

Charles Dickens wrote it best: “It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.”

Kicking off wedding season today with Anna & Steven’s elopement in Greenbrier with Rev. David Morgan! And what a gorgeous day it was with the clear water of river flowing behind them as they said their vows. It always feels good every spring to be back in the Smoky Mountains!

Our favorite place for fall sunsets and sweeping mountain views- the Foothills Parkway in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Merlin and Daniel’s wedding photos were on the perfect evening with a warm sunset and gorgeous fall colors!

Summer Solstice Blessing: May the long time sun shine upon you, all love surround you, and the pure light within you guide your way.

Today is the first day of summer with the longest, brightest day of the year.

Katie and Ray’s wedding at Spence Cabin was full of beautiful light rays streaming through the trees and sparkling on the river. Their families traveled from Canada to the little pink cabin in the woods in Gatlinburg for their wedding, and it couldn’t have been a more love-filled day!

* In Elkmont at the little pink cabin in the woods.
* On the bank of the Little River where Anna and Andrew said “I Do.”
* In the forest by the stone fireplace standing tall among the oak trees and evergreens.
* Crossing the “troll bridge” with the babbling brook trickling underneath.
* At the Appalachian Clubhouse where celebration, laughter and the sound of music softly traveled out into Daisy Town.

Anna and Andrew’s wedding at Spence Cabin was intimate, memorable, and meaningful. Exactly what they wanted it to be. With their closest family and friends, they got married as the river flowed behind them and their guests cheered in front of them. Congratulations Anna & Andrew!

Ahhh, Spence Cabin in the spring! One of our favorite locations for weddings by the river with light green new foliage and fluttering butterflies! Ali and Adam’s wedding on April 27 was full of sunshine and fluffy clouds. Adam said “their color” is green, so he was in a green suit and her engagement ring is a green emerald. They hand made the wooden flowers and even hand-dyed them each color. Congratulations Ali & Adam!
