The Law Kids are back-to-school!

After pick up yesterday in the car they were talking about how fun it was that their classrooms were across the hall from each other. They talked about getting to have recess together and the high fives they give as they pass through the halls.

3-kids 3-and-under at one point was heavy. It was hard. It felt like a lot in moments. But wowza. I would do the early days over again x3 just to hear their sweet voices and conversations of friendship in the back of the minivan.

And this is just the beginning…🥲

How lucky I am to be their Mama!

I cannot W A I T to hear all the stories of the memories they will make together at school this year. ✏️🍎📚🎉

Some days I wish I was as cool as Dean turning 1/2 a year old.

It takes natural born talent to pull off a hat like that and a smirk that will make any heart melt.

When I’m taking your photos, I’m always looking for the smiles and the portraits every family hopes for.

But I’m also watching for something else.

The tiny eyelashes you’ll never see this closely again.

The beloved stuffed animal that somehow ends up in every room of the house.

The way your baby leans into your shoulder without thinking.

The kiss your little love barely notices.

The blanket that gets packed away one day and never comes back out.

Those little details don’t usually feel important while you’re surrounded by them in the moment.

Until one day, they’re the things you miss most.

That’s why I photograph them.

Not because they’re perfect.

Because they’re part of you.

Part of what ties everything together in your life right now.

Take a second to stop and ask yourself this question…

What’s one tiny thing about this season of life that I hope to never forget?

My kids uniforms have been ordered and their school supply lists are printed. So I’d say it’s time to schedule Back-To-School mini sessions!

They will be quick and packed full of fun! Think balancing books on your head, practicing writing your name, big sweet smiles, and yummy apples to munch on.

Most kiddos need a minute or two to warm up in a new place. Most kiddos don’t love to have the focus on them and be in front of a camera. That’s ok!

Mom and Dad. The best thing you can do to help your kids feel comfortable is to be comfortable yourself! Easier said than done. I totally get it!

Mom and Dad told me how much he loves the song Opalite so obviously we started by turning that on to dance and move to. As soon as he realized Mom and Dad were having fun he was having fun too!

If you can come to your session as committed as this awesome Dad I can basically guarantee you an epic gallery. Plus the bonus of the best stories to laugh about later on.

I know first hand how exciting it is to finish your photo session. You did it! You got everyone ready and your session went far smoother than you thought it would.

You saw a few photos on the back of your photographers camera during the session when she got super excited. So you think “ok surely there are at least a few good ones!”
But now you just want to see a fully edited one. You want that solid consolation.
