This summer has been quite a whirlwind. A large part of it was spent traveling for horse shows, and even though some of this may be belated, a proud mama’s got a post! As you may know Sofie’s horse Rory has been rehabbing this summer. With a season full of horse shows planned, we needed to find another horse. We were hoping to at least find a horse that could get Sofie through the shows and around the ring in one piece. Sofie‘s trainer Ryann Ryann Westphalen pulled out her magic wand, and found us a perfect mare name Cats Meow HF. Enormous thanks to Casey McKissock for lending us this gem of a horse. She’s been a superstar and absolutely more than we could’ve ever hoped for. Sofie and cat have had a perfect summer together!
Cat came with us to Brass Ring at Devon, HITS Saugerties, and HITS Vermont. In only 6 weeks together these 2 had some pretty impressive moments. There’s too many to list here, but they had several 1st and 2nd places out of many large classes, they won a 2’6” medal, were Reserve Champion in the Junior Equitation, and had a 4th place Derby finish out of 30.
