The whole intention behind storytelling photography is to TELL the story and to do so means adding detail! That’s what I absolutely love about being a wedding photographer is because the day is jampacked with so much detail and it’s all important.

Imagine a wedding gallery with only the important events and no Inbetweeners? Or imagine the proposal were the only thing you see is getting down on a knee and a head, nodding yes.

For every couple that I’ve ever worked with wedding or not, their galleries will have all the tidbits that made their session and their day exactly what it was.

And I’ve heard firsthand from my clients that they love their gallery because they feel like they’re there and that’s all I could ever ask for is to make time stop in a moment relivable for a lifetime 🫶🏼

Engagement photos in Hope Valley, CA! This was absolutely a beautiful session, couple & experience. These are only the previews from their day last week & my heart can’t wait to get the rest in their hands.

If I were to describe their engagement session in Northern California, I’d say it was effortless, playful & genuine. While we wacked around some mosquitos, ultimately it was a flowy relaxed session and when the dogs get to run wild, everyone has fun 🫶🏼

Here’s everything we chatted about on this venue tour:

We got so much accomplished on this visit!

This included: where family photos will take place? how much time they’d like to themselves after the ceremony before rushing into photos? where they would like some couples photos, exploring the garden + a roof top angle to meet the clients desires of a very cinematic style.

We also discussed what is a must know about this church ( or venue) :

Are they okay with flash photography ? Do I need to be a member?
Is this a closed ceremony or will the be opening it to the church and public? Are they comfortable with me going up on the balcony? Etc etc.

These meetings don’t have to take place in person, especially as a destination wedding photographer, I don’t always get to tour ahead of time but I will happily sit in a FaceTime call, google your venue thoroughly and do my own deep dive into what to expect.

We work together closely when planning your wedding day so that your wedding photography isn’t a shot in the dark (see what I did there 🤪) and this is just another fun & organized component!

Plus, I get to see it all before the hustle and bustle of a timeline!

Wedding photography is such a dream job, and how lucky am I to get to tour places like this!

Surprise Proposal at the Cheese Shed in Napa, California!💍

What started as a causal day of wine drinking led to a final wine tour where 1 lucky lady is asked for forever! She said yes!! And her ring was so dang bright I could see it from behind the tree🤭

I had a blast hiding and documenting this moment unfold in real time! I wanted to be one with the tree so I’m glad I wore brown, even though the original cover was the vineyards before they were ripped out, she didn’t see me and the photos are so dang good!

Big thanks to .vino for coordinating the day so well and giving us a ride around while we celebrated their engagement!

Let me tell you something, these two aren’t professional models, they haven’t had a session like this together before, they were just hoping that their images showed the happiness between the two of them, the joy, especially while they celebrate this engagement.

And that’s all that I could ask as a photographer is that my clients show up ready to celebrate.

When my clients work with me for the engagement session and especially wedding day, they know that they can trust that I will give them guidance without asking them to play a character that isn’t true to them.

I’m not leaving you guessing or focused on what the next move is. Instead, I’m offering Guidance based off of everything we’ve chatted about leading up to this session. I get to know you, before I ever try to “pose” you. This is what makes the session!

My clients know I will ease that discomfort of the camera on them. There is no discomfort, no awkwardness, no “What do I do with my hands”, just pure presence and connection with your partner & I will handle the rest.

When the reception gets SILLY👏 Fun fact about this wedding, there was a slight issue with audio for a moment and the entire reception collectively sang together to keep the party bumpin. THOSE are the people you want throwing it back with ya 🤪

Forget the traditional flat lay!! I want levels, depth, shadows and railings to shoot through 🤤

Wedding Day Details, to me, shouldn’t be just laid out like “here ya go” noooo, we’re having fun with it! I want things in places you’ve never thought of- shoes in tubs, items trickling down the hallway- you get the deal!

Details are details because they help sew together a day- and your wedding day is anything but boring, so the details shouldn’t be either!!

I’m the wedding photographer that’s going to look through the lens of “what’s the meaning of this”, intentional imagery is a must & that includes those details 🫶🏼

My clients deserve all of my attention and I truly value the relationships I build. Their photos arnt sent to AI editing companies, their images and experience with me is handled carefully and intentionally.

Human Connection creates Human Emotion, my wedding clients won’t be pumped full of surface level responses, or fabricated connection.

No performances, just presence.

Allowing room for you to be yourselves is how you separate your photos from everyone else’s and it’s where I feel the most creative. Playing off your energy I will guide your session gracefully so that no moments forced, only preserved for you to reflect on, remember exactly how you love feels.

That’s the job, that’s the magic.

Ps: I still have so much content from last year to share, this engagement session ain’t going anywhere anytime soon 🤭
