The power of Hands in a photograph. Soft, gentle touch, reaching and holding. It’s honestly the romance of it all.

As a wedding and elopement photographer who specializes in couples specifically but focusing in on connection, hands are always catching my eye.

So much of a story is felt by the way a couple holds each other, Tucking the hair, tracing the shape of their jaw- ugh, it’s all so sweet and beautiful.

There’s so much to this dreamy proposal in the Redwoods🌲, but stripping back the layers and letting the hands do the talking, you can feel how much love there is here. 🥹🫶🏼

Just the Cliff notes from this beautiful Summer wedding in the Sierra Foothills of Gorgeous Pioneer, California. 🌲

When I’m welcomed into your world as a wedding vendor, I take on the role of photographer, of course, but most importantly I’m the observer.

I document the interactions you find most meaningful, and half the time you forget I’m ever there- which is the point. Not to pose, and smile but to be genuine, to feel in your body and surrounded by your people. For this one day, everyone you love is here and as your second set of eyes, you can trust I’m seeing it all and preserving it for you 🫶🏼

This wedding was a Forrest fairytale and was brought together by the help of family and friends. Every detail, down to the match box painting of the venue, done by the brides little sister (which is actually the family home passed down for generations) was carefully crafted and with the hearts of Deona & Trevor in mind.

Culture and traditions were brought to the gorgeous Candlelit table with their feast and homemade cocktail hors d’oeuvres. Families united and exchanged hugs and stories. There were speeches that made us laugh, cry and cheers to their new beginnings.

June feels like a lifetime ago already, but this wedding feels like yesterday.

So enjoy the cliff notes for now, there’s so much of this energetic, happy day to come!🥹

Just the Cliff notes from this beautiful Summer wedding in the Sierra Foothills of Gorgeous Pioneer, California. 🌲

What to expect in your Couples Session 👇🏼

(no need for a milestone moment - your love is worthy all on its own) 💛

From the moment you inquire, you’re not alone in the planning process!

Session Prep:

✨We discuss dates & times if you’re not already sure of one, we chat about the vision & location. You can rely on me to offer guidance or hunting down locations that fit your hopes best!

✨We chat about what the heck to wear, why these photos are important to you, how you met & your own story. All this work up allows a custom tailored session.

Your session, your memories, your values are NOT the same as anyone before you - so I don’t skip this prep info ever!

At the shoot:

✨It might feel awkward for a moment but you both will loosen up and ease into each other.

✨You can expect laughter, soft moments and fun when in front of my lens.

✨ I give as much instruction as needed but 90% of the moments you’ll keep, happen unplanned , & the unexpected moments are what make the session unique - lean into it!

✨ If you need more direction, I offer it. If you two are soooo googly eyed that you feel like I’m not even in the room, even better. I’ll back off & let you do your thing.

Ultimately, when you inquire with me for your couples or engagement session - all the way to larger things like your wedding photography.. Come ready to show up as your true selves and I will do the rest. 🫶🏼🥰

The glowiest day in Carmel By the Sea! We can argue it was the sun but I think it was that gorgeous ROCK 💍 flickering in the light 🤭

Liz & Bryan were such a pleasure to work with and given the surprise, I got to witness the level of care and consideration that Mr. Bryan has for the love of his life as he carefully planned the entire day.

After he popped the question and I got to meet Liz herself, I realized exactly why this was so special to him. She is such a light and radiates joy. Sincerely one of the sweetest people I’ve met!

Every time I visit Carmel, California for an engagement session, I’m usually met with clouds and fog but the sun was NOT shy on the day these two agreed to take the next step in their story, and I think that really means something 💛

Congratulations to the newly engaged!! Thank you guys for trusting me and running into the waves for me 🤪

Back by popular demand (I was the demand) 🤪

Part 2. of this playful engagement session that immediately followed a surprise proposal in the heart of a gorgeous 2400 + year old redwood.

This session happened like most, they insist they need all the guidance in the world & then naturally serve face and lean into the life they share. Making my job effortless & fun.

This California proposal was a bonus for me because I saw so much of the rolling hills covered in redwood trees AND On the drive back that night I saw a HUGE herd of Elk, so much so that I thought they were fake - literally couldn’t believe my eyes.

I loved it up here - I’ll be back later this year & congratulations to the newly engaged 🥹🫶🏼

Imagine loving your person so much that you gotta be inside of an ancient tree to ask for forever? 🥹

Part 1. of a proposal I can’t stop thinking of:

Dylan & Gabriella are literally 2 halves of a whole & I couldn’t be more excited that Dylan reached out to me for his epic proposal to his lady in the middle (of kinda no where) Leggett, California.

They came all the way from Portland, Oregon & I stayed in Fort Bragg while I awaited the hours to come where you’d soon find me undercover cosplaying a nature photographer🌲

Dylan took his chance before the cars arrived to drop to his knee & ask the easiest question. In the most wholesome 3 minutes ever, she of course said yes & spotted me (now so obviously in front of them)

I gave them a few to collect themselves & admire the ring before we dove into the most perfect engagement photos!! (so much so that can’t all fit in 1 post so be sure to come back for part 2!! )

Fun fact: I was roughly 1 out of 15 photographers he considered before choosing me & I’ll be adding that to my resume 🤭

I can’t wait for you to see more from this playful, adorable couple!!

Photography that relies on beauty alone, will never be enough - for me.

Hi, I’m Kianna & I’m excited to share a bit more about myself for anyone who may have just stumble across my page, has been here a while or just arrived.

I’ve had the luxury of being a photographer for 6 years (in October) and I honestly can’t think of a better outlet for all the things that matter to me. Love, loss, experience, beginnings, endings, seasons changing, growth and most importantly pauses.

I shared a quote from a book about Radical Acceptance that landed with me beyond just pausing in my real life but how pausing is 90% of when the moments you cherish most happen. I hope you read it and take it with you.

I don’t pick up my camera every session or wedding day to photograph the next beautiful California wedding or hop on a plane to celebrate you with your loved ones just because it pays the bills. - no, that’ll never sit right with me.

I do it because honestly, I thrive for connection and creativity as much as the next person. I think there’s something immensely COOL about learning everyone’s journey, different cultures and traditions. Learning about the walks of life that led you to where you are.

Sometimes photography can look like just chasing the next good photo, but my goal isn’t to chase virality, it’s certainly not to cash in on things that matter most to you.

This business to me is a lifeline that extends beyond shadows, colors and contrast. Its community. Its connection and its loving every version of a persons life that I’m welcomed into.

Who I am, what I love and what I do is all rooted in storytelling.

“We need all the help we can get” - I hear this all the time but the secret? The guidance I give is just a sliver of the photo you get. Sure, I’ll tell you to cuddle up on a rock, hold her tight, foreheads together but you know what I didn’t tell you?

I didn’t say sneak a kiss, I didn’t say rub her arm, or move that hair off her lip. I didn’t say make her laugh, or grab his collar. I actually didn’t even tell you to hold his hand.

All of that happened naturally & effortlessly. Because it isn’t about what I can tell you to do, it isn’t about the guidance that gets you there. You ARE in love, and that has a way of creeping in whether you mean to or not. You leaned in, I just took the photo and gave you the space to do so🫶🏼
