It's happening!!

Could a New Girl reunion finally be on the way? According to Max Greenfield, the answer is yes. 👀

The actor, who played Schmidt in the hit sitcom, has revealed that a revival is "happening"—and says he's already seen the scripts.

"As far as I know, it's happening. I've seen scripts, they're amazing."

His comments quickly sparked excitement among fans, although series creator Elizabeth Meriwether jokingly suggested Greenfield may have let the cat out of the bag.

She quipped on Instagram:

"Max has just been very adamantly asking to be the 'New Girl.' He wants the title to be Max Greenfield Is The New Girl."

She then added with a laugh:

"I wasn't gonna say any of this publicly, but then Max decided to make it all public."

Rumours of a reunion have been circulating for years, with cast members playfully blaming each other for the delay.

Jake Johnson previously said he'd be "surprised if there's not some sort of a thing at some point where everybody comes back," noting that the cast still keep in touch regularly.

New Girl originally ran from 2011 to 2018, starring Zooey Deschanel, Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris, Hannah Simone and Damon Wayans Jr., and has remained a fan favourite long after its finale.
