A little shoutout to the crew at Ambre Blends! I had the opportunity to photograph their fun team, and I love how these portraits came together!

Not everyone behind a brand is customer-facing. Some of the people who make a business what it is are working behind the scenes, creating, organizing and making things happen every day. And they deserve to be seen, too.

For Ambre Blends, we created portraits that felt cohesive as a collection while still allowing each person to look and feel like themselves. Professional, polished and consistent, but with personality. Because headshots don't have to feel like corporate headshot day!

A little thank-you for coming back, and for spreading the word!

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to see families grow, kids change, and familiar faces return year after year. I've seen kids grow from baby to adulthood, and I'm now starting to see that next generation! It really is amazing 🤗

“This is completely outside my comfort zone.”

I've heard this from several people who have stepped in front of my camera for BARE. And here's what I find so interesting: most of the time, that's exactly WHY they wanted to do it.

Not because they suddenly felt confident. Not because they love having their picture taken. But because they wanted to try something different. Something that pushed them a little beyond what feels familiar. I love that.

You don't have to know how to pose. You don't have to walk into my studio feeling confident or have everything figured out. We talk, we laugh, we move around, and eventually, you start to forget about the camera a little. That's when some of my favorite photographs happen.

BARE isn't about becoming someone else or creating a perfectly polished version of yourself. It's about seeing yourself a little differently, maybe even the way the people who love you already see you.

I wrote a little more about this on the blog, because I think there's something worth exploring in the idea of doing something because it makes you a little nervous, rather than letting that nervousness stop you.

Maybe you're not supposed to feel ready. Sometimes you just have to be curious enough to see what happens when you do it anyway.

A little local-business shoutout for Robert Carpenter, founder of The Classical Workshop.

Robert has a Ph.D. in Classics and turned that knowledge into something pretty cool: children’s books, puzzles and games that introduce kids to ancient mythology, literature, history and art through storytelling and play. Their products are thoughtfully researched, illustrated by real artists (no AI), and made right here in the USA.

These photos are a great example of something I want business owners to see: branding photos don’t have to mean one traditional headshot.

Senior photos should feel like you, not like checking a box off the senior-year list.

For this Senior Experience, we started in the studio with BARE-inspired portraits: simple, honest, full of personality, and a little outside the typical “senior photo” mold. Then came the outfit changes, a completely different feel, and a trip to Flat Fork Creek Park for even more variety.

And we got SO. MANY. PHOTOS. 🤍

Different looks. Different sides of her personality. Quiet moments, big smiles, confidence, movement, and all the little things that showed her spirit.

That’s what I love about the full Senior Experience. We have the time to change it up, play, explore, and create a gallery that doesn’t feel like one version of you, it feels like all of you.

Yes, 15 minutes really is enough!

A mini session isn’t about rushing through photos. It’s about knowing how to use those 15 minutes well. We can get the everyone-looking-at-the-camera photo, the snuggles, the laughs, the kids being themselves, different groupings, and all the little moments in between.

After 22+ years of photographing families, I know how to keep things moving without making it feel rushed. For a lot of families, 15 minutes is the sweet spot. Less time for kids to get bored, less pressure on everyone, and a lower investment than a full session, while still walking away with a gallery that feels like you.
