It's "calving season"! 🐮

When I was pregnant with my second, I landed on horse-tok somehow - specifically Katie Van Slyke's channel, if anyone else is familiar with her. It was actually during foaling season and I got so invested in daily updates on horses having their babies and seeing who would have their baby first... Me or one of the horses.

Anyway, I continued watching and then got into calving season / daily calf counts and it has just been my daily unwind at night kind of thing to watch her videos ever since.

But her cows are starting to have babies right now and it seemed like a perfect time to share this cutie with her cow hat (her family has a local cattle farm).

Usually, I’m the one who gets to keep the fun secrets for my clients… but this time, I was the one being surprised.

During my niece's family creek session, her husband asked me to get a photo of them holding hands and looking away. What I didn’t know was that they had a little surprise planned.

Instead of just holding hands, they pulled out ultrasound photos.

And what I thought was just going to be a cute moment of them together turned into the moment I found out their little family would be growing with baby number 3 on the way!

What a cute and fun way to tell me the big news! ❤️

To the parents juggling all the things… I see you.

The newborn who needs you constantly, the toddler who suddenly has big opinions, the bags, the snacks, the meltdowns, the million little things you’re trying to keep together.

I know sessions don’t always go exactly as planned. Sometimes they feel a little chaotic, especially with toddlers... and that’s okay.

Because somehow, in the middle of all that chaos, there are always those little magical moments. The unexpected smiles. The cuddles. The tiny connections. The moments you didn’t even realize I was capturing.

So if you showed up tired, frazzled, and wondering if we got anything good…
