This proposal was so thoughtfully planned from start to finish. Every detail felt intentional, personal, and full of love. From the beautiful setting at Flower Boys to the moment Emma realized what was happening, it was one of those evenings that felt truly special to witness.
One of my favorite things about this job is getting a front row seat to moments that change the course of someone's life. The anticipation, the excitement, the happy tears, and then the joy that settles in when two people realize they're about to spend forever together.
So grateful I got to document the beginning of this next chapter for these two. Congratulations, Emma & Ran. 🤍

My life is honestly marked in two chapters: before I met Meredith, and after.
For well over a decade now, we’ve walked through just about every version of life together. The loud, exciting seasons. The heartbreaking ones. The growing pains. The victories we prayed for. The random adventures and the late-night conversations that somehow fixed everything for a little while.

There are very few people who get to witness your life changing in real time and somehow love you more through every version of it. You’ve been that person for me.

I love you, Meredith. I love your creativity, your heart, your ability to dream big while still showing up faithfully for the people you love. I love building businesses beside you, building ideas with you, and building a life full of memories together.

Thank you for being one of the greatest gifts God ever placed in my life. Happy birthday to my best friend 🤍

Hi, I’m Maci! The girl behind Halcyon Photography 🌿
I figured with some new headshots, it might be time for a little reintroduction.
I’m a wife, a mom, a storyteller, and someone who deeply believes photographs should feel like something… not just look like something.
I started Halcyon Photography because I wanted to capture people the way I remember them in my own life:
the way your toddler reaches for your hand without thinking,
the chaos before the perfect moment,
the belly laughs,
the tears,
the in-between moments that somehow become the ones you treasure most.
My sessions are rarely stiff or overly posed. I’ll probably ask you to move around, hold your babies close, laugh a little louder, and trust me when I say the imperfect moments are usually the ones you end up loving most.
Outside of photography, my world revolves around my family, faith, building intentional community, and finding beauty in ordinary life. I’m a theatre girl at heart, which probably explains why I’m so drawn to emotion, connection, and storytelling in every gallery I deliver.
Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or you’re brand new, thank you for being here. Truly. Supporting small businesses means supporting real families, and I’ll never take that lightly.

I’ve photographed this little guy since before he was even here, and somehow we already made it to his first birthday session 🥹
I did his parents’ maternity photos, then newborn photos, and now suddenly he’s a full blown toddler running around barefoot with his emotional support block like it’s the most important thing he owns 😂

Somewhere between the dirt on his little toes and exploring everything except looking at my camera, I had one of those moments where I just felt really grateful.
Grateful that this job has let me grow up alongside so many people. That somehow the people I once shared sleepovers, long drives, and awkward teenage years with now trust me with the most meaningful parts of their lives.

There’s something really surreal about watching people become parents. About seeing little pieces of who they were years ago now living in their babies. And then getting invited into those moments long enough to preserve them.

And honestly, the older I get, the less I care about perfectly posed photos anyway. I want the tiny real things. The emotional support block. The dirty feet. The wandering off. The expressions their parents will recognize forever because that’s exactly who they were in this season.

The quick glances. The nervous hands. That deep breath right before everything begins.

The way someone reaches for you without thinking. The squeeze of a hand. The quiet tears that try not to be seen.
Those are the moments that actually tell the story.
The ones you don’t realize are happening until they’re gone… and then they end up meaning everything.
