Two big celebratory events this month: a special project to mark 10 years of my photography business, and a solo trip across the pond to walk part of the Cotswold Way. I’m feeling so content and grateful 🫶

Confession: my iPhone photo storage is a complete disaster.

As in I’m constantly getting the “iPhone Storage Full” pop-up and then deleting random screenshots & duplicates in a panic to make room.

How in the world can my client images be so painstakingly organized, labeled, and backed up in multiple places, while my phone photos are such a mess? Please tell me I’m not alone! 😬

And last but definitely not least... meet Lucy and Emma!

Lucy, also known as “Sweet Girl” is a squishy pug/chi/pekingese mix who is happiest with treats and attention. She was not the biggest fan of being in front of the camera, but that was likely the photographer’s fault for not supplying her with enough treats! 😂

Cute scruffy Emma is also called “Wild Thing,” but don’t let that nickname fool you. She never misses an opportunity to give love!

Both are rescues, both are very loved, and both keep the family entertained in their own ways. Lucy twirls when she’s happy, gets the post-bath zoomies, and did I mention she likes treats? Emma is the best snuggler who loves ALL her toys and knows a good head tilt is hard to resist.

And with that, you’ve officially met all of the Joybringers! 🫶

The exhibition is just a week away, and I’ll be sharing the featured portraits after the event, so stay tuned!

No smile required. You have my permission not to force a big smile in every headshot.

I love getting a variety of expressions so you have options, and yes, I’ll probably encourage a smile or two along the way. But depending on your job, personality, or where the image will be used, a more serious expression may be the better choice.

✅ Neutral expression? Good.
✅ Tiny hint of a smile? Also good.
✅ Serious, thoughtful, boss mode, or even a little smirky? All good.
❌ Mug shot? Not so good. That’s when I’ll step in. 😉

Rosie was one of four senior rescue dogs in her family, and although she had only been with them for about 2 years, she had clearly found her home.

Rosie’s mom described her as incredibly kind, intuitive and sensitive to the people around her. During her session earlier this year, she was calm and oh so sweet.

She was also a VERY good model. Her portrait for the exhibition is stunning, with a touch of George Costanza couch-pose energy. 😂

Sadly, Rosie passed away last month. I’m especially grateful we got to make this portrait of her while we could. A sweet senior girl who finally found her forever family and got to spend her final chapter exactly where she belonged. ❤️

I’ll be sharing one more pair of Joybringers, and the exhibition is next week!

What’s a composite team photo? Each person is photographed individually, then combined into one group image using the power of photoshop. It’s easy to add or remove people later without starting from scratch.

For Temperature Solutions, a family-owned HVAC company based in Kemah, we also used a custom digital background from their warehouse to keep the look consistent for current and future team members. Cheers to our HVAC professionals for keeping us cool and comfortable in Houston!! 🫶

Brothers from another mother.

Meatball is the wild child, or as his mom described him “sweet and caring, but slightly psycho”. 🤪 Weighing in at just 12 pounds, this alpha lets you know when it’s time for scratches or food.

Rigatoni is more reserved and is happiest eating, snuggling, eating, hanging out with Meatball, and did I say eating? 😋

Both are rescues who needed some extra time, patience and love. Now they’re living their best lives!

This month brought the last fleeting days of summer and the start of a new routine. Last August we were all-in on the demo & framing work of our home remodel (half the roof was gone), so after months of construction and then moving back home, this August was quite boring by comparison. I must say I prefer the boring. 😆

Tank’s mom said his life motto was: “You WILL adore me!” Gotta love that confidence! 😎

This pit bull was a total ham who loved marshmallows, faked injuries to get onto the couch, and made it his mission to win over anyone who seemed a little afraid of him. He was a true gentle giant who had a way of making people feel safe and loved.

I photographed Tank with his little human sister back in 2020, when I was just experimenting with studio lighting in my garage. Tank has since passed, so having his portrait included in this project means a little extra to me.

That early session reminds me how much has changed over the past ten years, and how grateful I am for every person and dog who trusted me along the way. 🥰
