BEST USE AWARD 🏆 goes to Julie for putting her dog Van Halen’s headshot on a custom pickleball paddle!

✅ Pro tip:

The best custom products featuring your dog’s likeness start with a perfectly lit, professionally edited photograph that’s captured with love. 👊🏻

What’s really happening here? 👇🏻

Before every 📸 session, there is a very intentional meeting that happens with every dog & human client.

I am actively taking inventory of the energy in the room.

This dog, Patty, is a senior Jack Russell rescue with vision challenges. I wanted to bond with her & what came up intuitively was her tickle spot.

My silliness is intentional. It makes us all laugh which has a calming effect on her humans. She feels their energy, and it shapes how safe and calm she feels in the moment.

We are regulating nervous systems. Mine, hers, her humans’.. all in an effort for the best photo outcomes.

I want her to trust me.

And this meeting & what happens looks different from dog to dog.

Illustrating my process is a creative challenge in & of itself but I am here for it.

Love,
RA

NEW content, no real plan, just having fun and OVERTHINKING it all, per usual. 😜

Studio Life:

→ Pet sessions with clients 🐶🐱
→ Training Kait Lindanger 📸
→ Catching Clarky on camera being his blind, fearless, completely unbothered self ❤️‍🔥

Start of something. Not sure what yet. Along for the ride if you are. 🙏🏻

You knew how it would end the day you adopted them.

The fear of that day is proof of how deeply you love.

I’ve spent 20 years photographing that love.. in the beginning, in the middle, & at the end.
