There is something so incredibly beautiful and magical about this holiday. ✨💀🌸 A celebration of life, love, remembrance, and honoring the beautiful souls who are no longer physically with us but will forever live in our hearts. 🕯️🦋❤️ It’s a reminder that love never dies, memories live on, and there is so much beauty in celebrating those who came before us. 🌼✨

And when I tell you to take photos in the INCREDIBLE, breathtaking fields of marigolds that my dear friend Yesenia planted, grew, and so lovingly created at Pear Bloom Farm | Hood River, OR … i mean it!!! 🌼🌼🌼😍📸✨

The colors! The flowers! The LOVE poured into every single bloom! 🌼🦋✨ It’s honestly beyond magical, and seeing you all create such beautiful memories in these golden fields makes my heart SO HAPPY!!! 🥹🧡

Earlier this month I sat at a big table with a group of incredible women for our second Radiate dinner, and I’m still thinking about it.

We all get busy and moving fast. We’re running businesses, raising kids, building careers, and checking off the next thing. It’s rare to stop and ask yourself what you want, where you are, and what’s next.

That’s what this evening is for.

We shared a meal, spent quiet time reflecting, and then had the kind of conversation that only happens when women feel safe enough to be honest. Some were closing big chapters, some were asking for more from their careers, and some were in the middle of building something new. Every story made the room stronger.

Amy of Amy Eastman / Oregon Branding + Portrait Photographer 🌿 📷 captured the evening and took headshots of each woman. Those photos are reminders of the promises we made to ourselves that night. I’ll be looking at mine this week while I write my next 10 year plan, in the same journal as my last one. It feels scarier this time, and I think that’s a good sign.

If you take one thing from this, let it be this: put time on your calendar that’s just for you. Make it a dinner, a walk with a friend, or an hour with a journal. You can’t pour into everything else if you never stop to check in with yourself.

Gratitude for the moments I used to pray for 💕🙏🏽🫶🏽❤️📸🤍🫴🏽📿

Once a day - morning or night - Viola and I journal on what we’re grateful for in the present moment … and then what we’re (still) praying for in the future 🪄📝🕯️✨

My goal is to teach her the power of even when something feels out of reach. ✨💫 To focus on what we abundantly have in life - because it’s A LOT 🙏🏽😍 Everyone does, with this perspective shift.

It’s not always easy, but it’s something I do regardless of how “I feel,” that day. 💛

And lately for me, I’ve just felt such immense gratitude for my dream business, my dream career, my dream studio and my dream clients ✨💫🫶🏽🙏🏽 I had a conversation with a friend this week and she said, “Amy, how amazing is it that you get to do and share your ART for a living.”🤯🙌🏽🙏🏽💕

I reflected on the high school version of me, painting and drawing - not knowing where it would take me.

Then the college version of me, studying all forms of art, oil painting for hours - thinking, “how lucky am I that my ‘Final,’ or ‘test’ that quarter was to create a beautiful work of art or nail this composition. Or that my “book list,” to buy was instead a pile of brushes, paint and sketch materials (thanks mom and dad 😉) 🎨🖌️🖼️

I get asked a lot if I studied photography in school - and ironically, I didn’t! In fact I dropped the one elective photography course I had “because I wasn’t interested”🙄🤣 … now I’d LOVE to learn the dark room, film 🎞️ etc … but such is life.

Crazyyyy twists and turns and you still end up right where you need to be 🥹🙏🏽✨📸

So alas, thank you to each and every one of you that’s given me the honor to photograph you, your loved ones, your business, something important to you. I don’t take it lightly. I’m SO 💕✨🙏🏽📸💫💛

It was fast 💨 it was magical ✨it was perfect 👌 just like all of my beautiful families 🫶🏽

Love the ones you’re with. Take pictures. All the pictures. Spend time. Quality time. I’m so glad my days are filled documenting memories with all of you. Sitting at my desk, editing smiles and hugs and warm moments. 🙏🏽✨🫶🏽🍏

This is what life is all about.

Pear Bloom Farm | Hood River, OR is absolutely breathtaking and so is this sweet family I’ve been shooting since the birth of their first daughter. My heart feels both (so heavy), but so full today!
