I’ve been getting a ton of elopement inquiries lately, so I wanted to share this elopement I photographed a couple months ago! 🌿✨
From inquiry to their day, working with J & J was so seamless.
One of my favorite things about eloping is that there really are no rules. You don’t have to follow a traditional wedding timeline or do things just because you feel like you’re “supposed to.” You can make the experience completely yours.
A few ideas if you’re thinking about eloping in Hawaiʻi:
— Already legally married, but still want the bridal experience? Let’s get dressed up in your wedding attire, choose a few beautiful locations, and create something that feels like you. We can run through fields, explore the coast, stop somewhere for food or drinks, and turn it into an entire experience. I’ll give you direction when you need it, while also stepping back and giving you space to just be together so it never feels overly posed or overwhelming.
— Want to legally get married here in Hawaiʻi? You’ll need an officiant to make it official, but your day can still be incredibly simple and intimate. Exchange vows somewhere meaningful, bring along your closest people—or keep it completely private with just the two of you.
— Make a whole day out of it. Your elopement doesn’t have to be a quick ceremony followed by a few portraits. Go somewhere you’ve always wanted to see. Have a picnic. Grab shave ice. Jump in the ocean. Watch the sunset. Plan a private dinner afterward. Your photos can document an experience, not just a ceremony.
And if you have absolutely no idea where to start? That’s okay too. I can help you think through locations, timing, lighting, and how to create a day that feels intentional without turning your elopement into another big production.
If you’ve been dreaming about eloping in Hawaiʻi, consider this your sign. 🌺
