The difference between a wedding that feels calm and one that feels chaotic usually has very little to do with how many things are happening.

That’s what surprises most people.

After almost a decade around weddings, I’ve photographed wedding days packed with activities that still felt relaxed and fun, but I’ve also photographed wedding days with plenty of free time that somehow felt stressful from the very beginning.

The difference is usually how the day was built.

The most relaxed weddings are the weddings where couples identified what mattered most and built the timeline around those priorities.

They gave themselves enough time to get ready, they created room for conversations and they weren’t constantly rushing from one thing to the next.

But most importantly, they stopped trying to do everything.

Social media has convinced couples that a fun wedding needs to be packed with activities and surprises.

But from what I’ve seen, the weddings people enjoy most usually have space to laugh with friends, hug family members and to actually sit down during dinner.

You deserve space to look around the room and actually absorb what’s happening.

Because calm and fun aren’t opposites! In fact, the weddings that feel the most fun are often the ones where people felt comfortable enough to fully enjoy themselves.

The goal Is to create a wedding day with enough room to experience everything that’s already there. Follow me if you’re trying to build a day where you feel comfortable and have fun!

Kaitlin and Tim may have been the coolest couple I’ve ever photographed😎 Between the sunglasses, Kaitlin’s white leather jacket and the fact that these two somehow made every photo look effortlessly cool, this wedding had such a fun vibe from start to finish!

I feel like wedding planning can make couples feel like they have to fit into a certain mold, but one of my favorite things about this day was how unapologetically them it felt.

Just a really good day with really cool people. 🤍

If you’re getting married soon, here’s a piece of advice that can completely change your wedding day:

Don’t schedule every minute.

One of the biggest mistakes I see couples make is creating a timeline so packed that there’s no room to actually experience the day. The morning feels rushed. Portraits feel rushed. Conversations feel rushed. Before they know it, the day is over.

Instead, build intentional space into your timeline.
• Add 10–15 extra minutes to transitions between events.
• Plan a few quiet moments alone with your spouse.
• Leave room for hugs, conversations and unexpected moments.
• Trust that not every second needs to be productive.

The truth is, the moments that become your favorite memories are rarely the ones you planned down to the minute.

They’re the spontaneous laughs with your bridal party.
The tears during a parent dance.
The few minutes after the ceremony when it finally hits you: “We’re married.”

A well-planned wedding isn’t one that fills every minute. It’s one that gives you the freedom to be fully present in the moments that matter most.

At the end of the day, nobody remembers whether the timeline ran five minutes behind.

They remember how the day felt. 🤍

One thing I’ll always tell couples: if there are traditions that matter to your family, make them a priority!!!

Victoria and Demetri’s wedding was filled with moments that connected generations, from their Greek Orthodox ceremony to the traditional Greek dancing that had the dance floor packed all night long.

And can we talk about Victoria’s bouquet for a second? Her mom made it and I’ll forever be thinking about it! How much more special can that memory get?! 🤍
Cheers to this sweet couple who will forever live as king and queen in my mind 🥂👑

If I get a solid chunk of work done, I feel accomplished, productive and ready to enjoy the rest of the day! But if I get interrupted before I get to that point? For some reason my brain acts like the entire day is ruined. 💀

That feeling of completion is like what runs my entire business haha.

Entrepreneur/ Wfh moms... is this just me?

One thing our couples are always surprised to hear is that family photos usually aren’t stressful because of the photos themselves.

They’re stressful because for about 20 minutes, somebody suddenly becomes responsible for finding 30+ people.

After almost a decade around weddings, I’ve learned that family photos run smoothly when everyone knows exactly where they’re supposed to be before we ever start taking pictures.

That’s why we use a very specific system with our couples that makes family and group photos feel effortless on the wedding day.

A few months before the wedding, we’ll have you create a list of the family and group photos that matter most to you. Immediate family, grandparents, college friends, work friends or any larger group combinations you’d like captured.

From there, we organize everything into a specific order and build the rest of the family photo list for you. By the time your wedding day arrives, everyone knows exactly what we’re photographing and when.

We also make sure there’s a point person from each side of the family who knows where people need to be. Then, rather than pulling you away from cocktail hour all night, we’ll gather the groups and bring you in when it’s time.

The goal is to eliminate confusion and make sure you’re not responsible for managing people.

Because every minute spent searching for relatives is a minute that comes out of cocktail hour, portraits or simply enjoying your wedding day.

The interesting part is that most family photo delays don’t happen because people are being difficult. They happen because nobody realizes it’s their turn until someone starts looking for them.

A little planning ahead of time completely changes the experience.

Family photos become more organized, guests get to cocktail hour sooner and couples don’t spend the first part of their marriage trying to track down Uncle John. 😂

The best wedding timelines aren’t usually the ones with the most time. They’re the ones that use the time intentionally so you can actually enjoy the people you’re there to celebrate with. 🤍

Most couples spend hours choosing an engagement session location and almost no time thinking about this.

One thing I’ve noticed after photographing hundreds of engagement sessions is that couples often assume the location is what makes photos feel personal.

If they can just find the perfect beach, vineyard, city street or park, the photos will automatically feel like them.

But I’ll tell you right now, it’s not true.

The couples who end up having engagement photos that actually feel like their relationship are the ones who choose a location, activity or experience that already means something to them.

Then when they show up to their session, the nerves fade quickly because they already feel like themselves.

Here’s a few ways to do that:

1. Choose a place that already holds a piece of your relationship. Maybe it’s where you spend your summers, where you had your first date or somewhere you find yourselves returning to over and over again.

2. Build your session around something you’d actually do together. Grab coffee, walk your favorite town, spend time at the beach, bring your dog or play a sport you both love. The more natural it feels, the easier it is to relax.

3. Wear outfits that feel like you. Comfortable and confident will always photograph better than trendy. This is one of the reasons we include an online outfit stylist for all of our couples.

Bonus: Plan a date night afterward. You’re already dressed up, you’ve spent the evening together and the hardest part of wedding planning is taking time to enjoy it. Keep the night going. 🤍

That’s why before every engagement session, we spend so much time helping our couples think beyond “Where should we go?”

Instead, we ask 16 important questions and I want to share them with you!!! Comment ENGAGED and I’ll send the list over because you deserve an experience that feels like you!
