As someone with a background in journalism, I've always believed that great photography does more than show what happened—it helps people understand the story behind it.
Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph the annual dealer meeting for Tiffin Motorhomes in Birmingham, Alabama, for RV News Magazine. I'm honored that one of my images was selected for the cover and that more than 20 of my photographs were featured throughout the story.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this assignment was working directly with the magazine's editor to identify and capture the moments that best represented the event. That collaboration between editor and photographer is at the heart of photojournalism. It's about looking beyond the stage and the crowd to find the interactions, expressions, details, and moments that bring a story to life.
Seeing these images used throughout the magazine is a reminder of why I love this work. Strong visual storytelling helps people connect with an event long after it's over.
Thank you to RV News Magazine, the editorial team, and everyone involved for the opportunity to contribute to telling this story.
My goal isn't just to photograph an event. My goal is to create the images that tell its story.
