My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. Yesterday, my cousin, Anna, married the love of her life, Cameron, at a place that is so special to our family and friends. Camp McDowell is "God's Backyard." It's a thin space - one of those places where the line between Heaven and earth seems to disappear. Growing up, Anna and Cameron spent summers together in Monteagle, and for about a year or so before the pandemic and a few months in, they lived and worked at McDowell. This place holds so many memories for them, and now they can add a weekend full of wedding memories to that list.
Camp McDowell is home to the most gorgeous Bigleaf Magnolias. They're found all over the property, and they are one of Anna's favorite trees (if you don't have a favorite tree, I highly suggest this one ;) ). They are tall with slender trunks, almost delicate. They have huge leaves and a large, single fragrant bloom. They are majestic, almost otherworldly, and when you see them in person, you can't help but gasp at their splendor and sweetness.
Anna and Cameron, my wish for you is that your love continues to grow like the Bigleaf Magnolias. Sweet, simple, but so grand and so impactful. We love you both.
