Big news: Island Belle Photo is officially going full-time for the 2026 season! 🌊✨

After years of this being my “soul gig side gig,” a little nudge from the universe (i.e. getting laid off from my day job right before Christmas) made it clear: Let’s lean into the magic, Krista! I am so ready to make the beaches of Hilton Head Island my permanent office.

To every family who has trusted me over the years with your messy-perfect moments: thank you. You chose me to capture your sandy toes and belly laughs in our Lowcountry golden hour magic. I’ve never taken that lightly.

I’m sending all the positive energy out today that I can turn this thing I love into a lasting, full-time reality (and pay the mortgage 🤣). I’m am all in for more bare feet, more kids chasing waves, and more families just being together in the best place on earth.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

📷 Friends! How has the end of your summer been?! I had the busiest summer in the history of Island Belle Photo, for which I am so grateful. But it has also meant more time in front of my editing screen and less time on Instagram.

🐾 We also welcomed a new puppy this month! After another round of discouragements and disappointments in our efforts to adopt a child (we’ve been trying to become parents for 8 years), I brought this cutie home to assuage our grief. As my husband would say—“she’s a 10, but she keeps buying dogs” 🤣 So everyone, meet Charlie, baby brother to our Annie and Bertie. It’s 100% total chaos over here. Three dogs! What was I thinking?! Ha! But goodness he’s a sweetie!

🌅 I’ve also been spending a lot of time with my dad on his boat. The rhythms of nature have been good for my heart and I’m grateful for this beautiful place we live. It too has buoyed me as I’ve swam through grief.

❤️ I have a million sessions to share in the coming days and only a few more to edit until I’m finally caught up from summer. Can’t wait to show you!

It’s past midnight as I climb into bed and finally get to sharing a post. What a day! The cat locked me and the dogs out of the house (Would you believe me if I told you this isn’t the first time he’s done this?! 😆). The dogs are *living* for backyard time so they can chase the squirrels who are stealing pears from the pear tree. One dog wants the squirrels. The other wants the pears. They’re a good team.

Thankfully I installed a keypad on the front door the last time the cat did this so we were able to get back in. (For the record—Annie caught 0 squirrels but Bertie caught 2 pears today!). And I quickly grabbed my camera so I could race to my two extended family sessions tonight. Then home for a few more hours of editing editing editing, trying to get everyone’s sessions delivered.

This has been my busiest July in the history of Island Belle Photo. Thank you to all my clients for helping me grow! I’m so grateful for your business, your referrals, your Google reviews, and your confidence in my work.
