Our rented condo gives a great view into a small wooded area that the birds seem to love. Today got even better when a downstairs neighbor arrived and hung out a bunch of bird feeders. My morning was spent listening to the call of these beautiful yellow rumped warblers.

The plan for today was to pack up all the Christmas decorations. But then it was warm, and the birds were very active, and I remembered a dream last night where there was a really cool bird but I couldn't figure out how to use my camera. So instead I spent a good chunk of the day watching birds. I did take all the Christmas decorations downstairs -the mess I left down there will be waiting for me tomorrow. Today there are pretty birds.

This year our neighborhood and my yard have spectacular fall color. I was hoping to get a fall foliage trip scheduled but we had too much else going on. I'm continuing to play with my light table and love the detail you can see on these leaves with the light shining through.

Playing with some more high key photography and a few flowers from my garden. This is definitely harder than it looks.

Only a pollinator can improve a photograph of a rose. Luckily this one was more interested in the rose than the human.

Unlike most pictures taken in the slot canyon to me this one invokes feelings of peaceful strength. It is one of my favorites for the colors and what appears to me to be a man exhaling through the cavern. It reminds me that even when you have to go with the flow you can emerge strong and simply breathe.

This shot was taken in Antelope slot canyon - it is so fluid you can almost picture the water running through the canyon...

I'm finally getting back to post processing a bunch of pictures from my Florida trip in February. We had a great day out on a boat with a friend and saw a bunch of Osprey flying about. My setup isn't optimal for birds in flight but I still got a few good ones.

Love the bright yellow colors of this Palm Warbler. I also love that it is eating mosquitoes right from a spider web. It had never occurred to me that a bird would steal from a spider - hopefully it is smart enough to not eat the spider. This shot is from my trip to Florida in February. There is a very cool waste water treatment plant near my mothers house that uses multiple ponds to further clean the treated water. The birds like it so much that it is part of the Florida birding trail and a great place to walk and bird watch.
