…our great-great-great-grandparents and those before them? Because I think about them probably more than the normal person. What were they like when they were living the life that eventually lead to ours? Did they think about the generations they’d never meet? Did they wonder what life would be like in this day and age?

I was recently given some family history that traced back to my 10x great grandfather, Isaac, born in England in 1529 and all I could think as I read about 500 years of family was “I wish I had photos of them!”

One day I’ll be that great-grandmother, and I really hope the photos I’m taking today will make their way to the generations I’ll never meet so they can feel like they know us a little bit.

the weather we’ve been having makes me crave the cozy stuff… like home and coffee with your person ☕️

i usually don’t open my calendar until march, but with this chilly weather lately i want to open february up for at-home sessions for anyone wanting something warm and relaxed.

🤎calling for more at-home sessions this year. sharing five reasons this type of session has my heart…

1. photographing your favorite people in the place you’re most comfortable adds a layer of goodness to your photos that can’t be explained.

2. i literally just come to hang out, un-hurried and intentional, ready to document the life you’ve created within your four walls.

3. these are the spaces you’ll miss one day without realizing it. the toys on the floor, the light, the photos on the wall in the background, the way it felt to be there. it will all be nostalgic years from now.

4. there’s no pressure, no worries… loving on your family with details of the season you’re in all around you is something you can’t mess up.

5. your home is a part of your story just like your family is and including it is my favorite way to tell that story well.
