I spent the last two nights doing astrophotography. On Friday night, I conducted an astrophotography workshop with four photographers. Last night, I did some astrophotography way out in the middle of nowhere, far from light polluted cities. The sky was very dark. This really neat, old church was a perfect setting for capturing the Milky Way. It reminds me of the old churches in Cades Cove, TN. The church was lit with a light cube.

Foreground: Nikon d610a, Sigma 12-24mm@ 12mm, ISO 1250, 115 sec, F4
Sky: Nikon d610a, Nikon 24mm f/1.8, 5 shots @ f/2.2, ISO 400, shot on a star tracker and the stacked for detail.

The Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park is known for its diverse wildlife. We mainly saw bison when we were there. The light on this particular day was amazing. There were frequent pop up thunderstorms, which created dramatic light on the landscape. I really loved the patterns and colors of the hillsides at this particular spot.
